Another Thread About Why Biden Is Choosing Harris, A Layman’s Terms Analysis. #KamalaHarrisforVP #BidenHarris2020 #KHive #Biden2020 (1/22ish)
Let’s start with the obvious reasons: She’s a woman. She’s Black. She’s intelligent and vibrant. She is also over 20 years his junior. With the uncontrolled pandemic and Biden’s alleged (I say with the utmost sarcasm) senility, a younger VP is necessity.
Republicans hate her. In 2018, her grilling of Brett Kavanaugh went internationally viral. The public still loved her then; she was internationally lauded for her efforts and encouraged to be our next president.
In 2019, Republicans feared she was the “next-Obama.” She could appeal to any voter. Her “no-nonsense” approach may even flip the independents. Where one could accuse Warren, Sanders, & Biden of being the Establishment, Harris is an outsider.

They knew she was a threat in 2010.
She balances the ticket. Fuck off w/that racist KIsACop narrative. Prosecutors defend victims of crimes, they aren’t the cops bffs. They opposed her run for AG in 2010. Post-service praise that she was “open” & “honest.” That’s an ethical boss; not a Blue Line endorsement.
Her prosecutor’s record is called “growth.” Same as Warren, who was a Republican. 😉 Same as Sanders, who wrote a rape essay, endorsed a rapist, don’t get me going... 😒 Maybe like Buttigieg, who never had to answer for his city’s racist policing tactics. 🤷🏽‍♀️
And now, she’s leading the fight (again) on police form and racial inequality far more than any other senator, but most importantly, any Senator who previously ran for president or wants to become Vice President.
Why he’s choosing Harris: CA is a D-state. Choosing a VP from a D-state is a guaranteed Senate seat in an unpredictable election. Dems need every blue seat they can guarantee. CA hasn’t elected a Republican senator since 1992 (John Seymour).
The theory of “flip-side of delegation” which means Congress works to “asserts its delegation” by establishing a majority of the opposing political party. Consider the Obama era wherein Republicans controlled Congress.
And while current predictions show Democrats significantly crushing their opponents, midterm elections always draw older, Whiter, religious crowds that can change the landscape.
Already hear y’all already saying: He’s going to rec her as AG or SCOTUS. Both are appointed. The Senate aren’t going to confirm her. Biden isn’t going to risk an appointed position with someone who embarrassed Republicans & when he can’t predict Congressional elections. Periodt.
Biden has decades of FP experience. And a new team of 2,000+ advisors And while the VP will inevitably be involved in FP, Biden is likely to lead this himself. Whereas Harris has always and more recently led steadfast progress in domestic issues (see earlier racial inequality).
Can’t get over the “tense debate moment” about busing? Annoyed that Kamala said “that’s politics?” Maybe, you should listen to Joe’s own words:
Complaint: Biden should trust, respect, and adore Harris like Obama does Biden. Sure! But that’s a reflection of 8 years of partnership. Biden insulted Obama at the start of the primaries and later called him “naive.” He wasn’t even Obama’s chief VP pick.
TL;DR It’s going to be Kamala Harris. Practice saying her name, she’s not going anywhere. 😘
