Now we have a huge development on our main road in Santa Teresa, NM, Country Club Road, and no one knows a thing about it!
Upon contacting Dona Ana County building services, they tell me..
“We don’t know what that is…That’s Sunland Park AND THEY’RE THEIR OWN JURISDICTION….”

I then ask them “You mean that they don’t need to undergo the county subdivision approval process before building some gigantic project??”
“Nope, no”, they respond.
“Are they PART OF DONA ANA COUNTY? DOMICILED THERE?”
“Well, yes, but they’re their own jurisdiction.”
“Nope, no”, they respond.
“Are they PART OF DONA ANA COUNTY? DOMICILED THERE?”

“So they can do whatever they please with NO COUNTY OR STATE OVERSIGHT??”
“That’s correct, sir.”
How is it that a city can get ALL of the Federal, County, and State aid they want, and effectively declare themselves a distinct and separate entity??

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TREND, ONE WITH WHICH WE WILL HAVE EVEN BIGGER “CHAPS”, OR “CHOPS”, OR WHATEVER IN THE USA..
