Notice the cynicism⤵️

The idea is that there is no objective truth, that all politicians are corrupt, and that any investigation must be politically motivated.

The implication, of course, is that the NY AG is motivated by politics instead of principles.

1/
This kind of cynicism is rooted in the belief that there are no principles. Everyone is corrupt.

If everyone is corrupt (if both sides are the same) it doesn't matter who you vote for.

Politics becomes tribal: What matters is winning.

2/
This kind of cynicism will kill democracy.

The antidote: Hold on to your principles and resist cynicism.

Both sides are not the same. All investigations are not politically motivated. Not all politicians are corrupt.
Projection is a subconscious process.

On the other hand, what we might call "You're the puppet" is a standard fascist technique for undermining truth.

“Fascists always deny what they are and ascribe their own features and their own totalitarian politics to their enemies.” Prof. Frederico Finchelstein, from ⤵️

I just grabbed a definition of "projection": healthline.com/health/project…

Calling it projection gives too much credit.
The only way I see this hurting Trump politically is that it cuts off some of his illegal funding. Trump isn't the NRA.

On the contrary, allowing a corrupt organization to pump money to candidates in an election permits illegal election interference.

Interesting, thanks.

Why the GOP is heading for cliff is that everything they stand for is unpopular. Their demographics are shrinking. All they've got are lies.

(I'm reading @stuartpstevens's book It Was All A Lie.)
