First, if you were going to take down foreign intelligence and transnational organized crime despite interference from Trump and Barr, state charges through New York would be ideal.
No pardons. No control over prosecutions.
Just Rikers and worse.
And all the money ultimately ties into US banking, which ultimately runs, one way or another, through New York.
Giving them insane reach, especially in cooperation with the Federal government.
A couple points, really.
Yes, the NRA has been implicated in immense operations with Russian intelligence to manipulate US elections and influence us through psychological warfare.
But why *start* there?
There are no political games to played here.
No chance to bring up, "Hey, they're only prosecuting these blatant crimes because of our giant treason operation!"
People will most definitely talk.
They don't really have a choice.
But there's no reason to start there.
No reason to let the guilty hide.
Rather, mountains of evidence will bring the truth to light.
An Attorney General with the authority to prosecute actually moving to. Shut. Down a thoroughly corrupt organization.
Think about just how many organizations have been implicated in the attack on our country.
On the entire world.
Think about how many are actually based in New York City.
And to just let the coup proceed, no matter how blatant the individual or collective crimes.
Didn't, as it happens, immunize anyone from all their *other* crimes.
Now?
Is it about personally going to Rikers?
Is it about their fiduciary duty to an organization which might be terminated for vast and innumerable crimes, executed in every corner of the enterprise?
Is it what happens once the corporate comes completely unraveled?
Your only defense is the fairy tale that no one will ever, *ever* investigate you?
That Justice would never come again.
That Bill Barr, as a kind of Papa Smurf of Pure Evil, would magically make everything go away at the end of a cartoon investigation.
Papa Smurf - excuse me, Bill Barr - has no power here.
Not over state charges.
And while exactly who does what *next* is still in question...
Remember, they can keep going.
Or with the social-media corporations?
With the rest of Big Tech?
With international finance, all of it tied in to New York City?
Possibilities abound.
And what seems like an invincible position has already been taken, gutted, and sold for scraps to provide for widows and orphans.
Pity.
How curious?
What else might the IRS-CI and FinCEN have in their books?
Or vast, interlocking databases, rather?
And then bringing indictments?
We're in an election, yes, but Trump and Barr have no direct control.
So ever-more-insane outbursts and threats only weaken Trump's position, and speeds us to the end.
