The people of Zimbabwe do not need @CyrilRamaphosa’s PR stunt.

They need real action against a totalitarian regime that is subjecting them to the worst kinds of persecution, torture and oppression.

As Chair of the AU, Ramaphosa should be leading the charge in denouncing the atrocities being committed in Mnangagwa’s name.

Instead he appears to be following in the footsteps of Mbeki, despatching envoys who are known to be soft on ANC-allied ZANU–PF.

Fellow South Africans, yesterday I wrote to our Finance Minister, @tito_mboweni.

I am outraged at the recent utterances of senior ANC leaders advocating for the collapse of our economy in the wake of COVID-19.

Please read and RT until he responds!
@tito_mboweni We cannot allow the ANC to racialise and demonise our economy, in an attempt to distract from their fundamental failure over the last 26 years to achieve of economic redress in South Africa.
@tito_mboweni I wrote to @tito_mboweni because he appears to remain steadfast in his commitment to economic reform in the face of populism and pandering within the ANC.

It's time for the good, honest, future-looking South Africans to stand together, and fight the madness within the ANC!

Mr President @CyrilRamaphosa, we cannot have the direction of our country being set by a geriatric cabinet who, learnt their economics from the Soviet Union.

Now is the time to do what is right for 🇿🇦 SOUTH AFRICA. To hell with the ANC political consequences.

The easing of lockdown regulations must be done by asking which businesses we cannot allow back to work, rather than which we can.

Put strong preventative & detection measures in place, & close businesses where there is non-compliance
@CyrilRamaphosa 2. Reform SA's finances!

Hundreds of billions could be freed up by cutting your cabinet, reducing the public service wage bill & getting rid of SOEs that are running at a loss.

These funds can then be used for social relief, economic stimulation and tax breaks!

What gives me sleepless nights is that the Cabinet Ministers who have collectively led our country to its economic knees over the past 10 years, are now charged with saving lives and livelihoods.

National Treasury is projecting the loss of between 3 and 7 million jobs.

Another model is predicting that the lockdown will actually lead to 29 times more lives lost than the
#COVID19 it seeks to protect South Africans from.
My engagement with many South Africans has shown that much of the relief that has been set up to help them, simply isn't available.

Email addresses don't work, phone numbers are dead. South Africans are being left in the dark.
