Whatever be the biases in the #MoodOfTheNation survey, it gives both direction and hope to citizens who are fighting this statist, bullying government.

And that comes from what the sample set thinks about the CAA, 2019. 1/n

It is a survey that is full of contradictory results. Precisely why it gives us tremendous insights.

It says 85% of people have either lost their job or has seen their income fall due to covid. But.. 2/n

But a whopping 91% percent of the people feel we have either done better or at par compared with other countries.

A comparison with just our neighbouring countries would have given the respondents a better picture.

And that's a comparison that hasn't reached them.. yet. 3/n

A survey where 93% of the respondents felt Govt's handling of the economy has been either outstanding, good or average.

Despite the highest unemployment or lowest growth seen in decades. 4/n

A sample set where 78% of the people rate Modi as an outstanding or good Prime minister.. 5/n

And in this survey with people with above mentioned views/opinions/feelings as the sample set, we find that only 50% support CAA.

Whereas 40% explicitly oppose it. 6/n

It comes below even Make In India programme as an achievement of the Government for the respondents of the survey.

When you read it you would realise, among the sample set which otherwise gives 80%-90% approval to everything that the Government does, even among that sample set, a good 40% hold a counter view when it comes to CAA. That gives us both hope and direction.

If you passionately put forward your case with emotion and logic, if you are ready to walk the talk, put action where your words are, then people are still willing to listen to you.

And that gives me both, a direction and a hope.
