.@realDonaldTrump’s order to delay payroll taxes is a shameless stunt to try to defund Social Security and Medicare in the midst of a pandemic.

@SenatorCollins understands this, and yet she is letting Trump attack seniors - a key constituency she has pledged to protect.

The payroll tax directly funds Social Security and Medicare.

Trump's elimination of this tax, temporary or not, is meant to undermine these programs and hurt vulnerable seniors.

The President is robbing our seniors for a political stunt.

350,000 Mainers are on Social Security. 335,000 are on Medicare. They cannot afford a cut to that program - temporary or permanent.

And, unfortunate for them, they need @SenatorCollins to stand up for them.

She needs to know that her inaction is abuse.

She claimed to stand for Maine women, but voted to confirm Kavanaugh. She claimed to stand for Maine workers, but took money from companies that outsourced their jobs.

And now she claims to stand for Maine's seniors, but is absent when crucial programs are under attack.

I've gone to DC to hold Susan Collins accountable — hell, I took an RV from California to Maine to protest outside her office doors. The next 85 days I will do everything in my power to oust her.

But, right now, Susan Collins needs to find her courage and stand up for Mainers.

So today, I'm going to call Senator Collins office. I'm going to demand she find her backbone and stand up for Mainers.

They cannot afford to wait.
