Ads on @guardian app for @Minecraft, take you to an Amazon shop which markets their whole #Minecraft range as "for boys" - including useless descriptions like this... #gendermarketing is a big problem, yet Guardian is supporting stereotyping of kids...! Image
And yes, this is a swipe at their "genderqueer generation" section. They're quite happy to allow gender marketing on their app though...

And yet, this is under "parent resources" on the @Mermaids_Gender website. Tell me Kelly isn't all about gender stereotypes...

✅"no interest in traditional boys toys like cars and Dinosaurs"
✅ "loves bracelets"
✅"looks longingly at girls in dresses"

And it goes on
✅He likes Princess costumes
✅Wears sparkly pink dresses and tiaras
✅"I couldn't cope with this ⬆️ behaviour"
✅MAKE him be a boy with boys toys and clothes
✅He wants "girls aisle" toys and clothes
And so "Kelly" starts researching trans information online.

Remember: this is on the Mermaids website under "parents resources" but what message does this silly story send?

"from the age of 4 we started letting evie being girls clothes and toys into the house"

We are also extremely concerned about the ‘affirmative’ model, especially as v.young kids are being pigeonholed (AGAIN) and flagged as trans for liking toys/clothes marketed for the opposite sex. @jk_rowling #IStandWithJKRowling
jkrowling.com/opinions/state…
This includes "parents resources" on the Mermaids website which follows the story of Kelly:

"We started to let Evie (4) bring girls’ clothes & toys into the house, and when she was five she told me her biggest dream in the world was to own a dress"
At no point during this "liking girls toys and clothes" does this child show ANY sign of gender dysphoria.

"Every time we went to the supermarket she would make a beeline for the aisle with all the dolls and girls toys and get very upset when I told her they weren’t for her."

OK, so kids need school shoes they can wear all day, 5 days a week, in all weather. They need to be practical, comfortable and waterproof. What girls don't need are high heels, and "ballet flats" that have no support or way of staying on the foot. Here's why Image
Because of the difference between a child’s foot and an adult foot, the best kind of shoe is one that has been formed to match the foot’s developmental anatomy. Inc a thin and completely flexible sole to support and facilitate a full range of movement.
The shoe should be closed at the back, to prevent the toes constantly having to grip onto the sole in order to keep the shoe on the foot. The closure at the top should be adjustable, with something like laces or velcro, and there should be no arch support.

Title: Kelly, 40, is mum to Adam, nine and Evie, seven, who transitioned to live as a girl 2015. Here Kelly, who is married to Andrew, 46, explains how Mermaids have helped her family.
Kelly said:
“From the age of two we started to notice that Evie didn’t quite fit in. I thought that my son was going to be gay, but it became apparent that there was something more than that."

No! I can't begin to express how harmful this silly article is. Surely this isn't common thinking?

"I leaned down and quietly hissed, "This is the boys' section. You have a girl's body. These clothes are not made for your body." parents.com/parenting/my-t…
"When we got to the school, the other girls were in puffy princess dresses. Most of the boys were in suits, and there was my daughter, straddling both worlds in her blue polo top and pink pants." 🙄
First off, girls and boys are pretty much child shaped till puberty, ie, the same - which is why shop measurements are identical up until about age 11. Second, gender marketing is big business and by splitting the market brands can sell more = £££

Only boys like Reindeer at Christmas? @jlandpcustserv meanwhile, girls get... Image
Yes, it's pink. Oddly this "deer" has antler buds, yet the only species of deer where females grow antlers are.... Reindeer! Also, it's asleep 🤷‍♀️ Image
Zero Star Wars clothes for girls Image
