These three boxes contain the memories I chose to keep when my parents sold their house 7 years ago. Going through them to see if I can let anything go.... #wishmeluck Image

A thread: Getting a lot of messages about censorship of certain social media accounts and websites, how “dangerous” this is for freedom of speech & how we all need to make up our own minds. Sigh. When I was a kid (pre-internet), my parents bought us a set of encyclopedia books
It was a big deal to have them, they were expensive, paid for month by month, but meant we didn’t have to trot off to the library every time we needed information on something. Our friends would come over to use them too, you’d get a call from someone who had to do a project on

Also @WilliamZabka and @ralphmacchio both look like someone in make up has just aged them up slightly. The premise wouldn’t have worked for many other 80’s stars.
As an aside, like 75% of my generation, I took up karate after seeing the movie. I’ve always been a bit of a lightweight. First lesson and I asked could I go to the loo midway. Sensei said “Sure! Take your time!” I thought that was nice til I realised it was sarcasm. When I...

I said I'd try and show you all a few pages from my Dad Tom's postcard book, collated by his very proud Mum back in New Ross. A time pre affordable air travel, when no one really went abroad, and here he was travelling to such far-flung places at Beirut and Lagos...
