Having almost accepted the real possibility of dying in detention, their new terror is having their children swept up in the foster care system or worse, deported.

To be clear, to help them we’ve been trying to get them the hell out of detention. That is obviously the priority, but this is something additional we looked into to at least relieve them of more psychological pain and to make sure their children would be taken care of. 😞
