Some of the causes for Indian independence. 1. Lacs of Indian soldiers were returning to India from the theaters of world war. Proved their worth in WW & British were tensed how they gonna act in India now. 2. Naval ranks’ mutiny & the support they got from people & army.
1/n
3. INA trials- British portrayed what Azad Hind Fauz did in North east as treason. Indians strongly opposed it. Ultimately, British couldn’t hang INA soldiers. They knew now things were not in their control. 4. Gandhi’s old age- Tilak’s death was used by Gandhi to launch a
2/n
massive movement. Gandhi’s death anytime soon after WW could give such opportunity to Congress. It could be a violent movement against British people in India. 5. Mounting pressure from USA & USSR- Both capitalism & communism strongly hates imperialism/colonialism. British
3/n
blocked a huge chunk of world market & sea routes by making colonies. USA helped Britain in war for a promise to leave colonies free. 6. Azad Hind Fauz’s assault & will to fight against Britain. Was just a matter of time that Indian Army would have revolted against Britain.
4/n
7. Pride of Asia-Japan humiliated British Navy in Indian Ocean & sunk all of its imp vessels. 8. Gandhi traveled whole country repeatedly & made a massive cadre of commoners who wanted independence at all costs. 9. Boiling pot of Hindu-Muslim skirmishes. Could go worst.
5/n
10. Earlier Indian princely states were largely free from demand of Independence. The forces of Rajas could be used against revolt in provinces in emergency. But after 1940, even People from princely states demanded independence. Bloody protests were breaking in such states.
6/n
11. Effect of 1935 GOI act. Act tried to unite princely states with provinces as some form of responsible govt. but princely states didn’t agree. British saw this as a betrayal & after this they made distance from princely states. 12. Aggressive stance of congress & ML.
7/n
13. Britain lost huge forces & ships in world war. Wasn’t feasible to control such a large country like India with what they had. 14. Lastly, of course the actual woke commoners of India who were ready to do anything for independence. Millions of men & women who came
8/n
forward to help the cause. Without them, nothing could be possible. They not only fought for independence but also made efforts after achieving freedom to make India shine in world. The blood of Punjabis & Bengalis during partition is the price we paid for partition. They
9/n
also deserve the credit. World thought that we cannot govern ourselves w/o white men. We showed the world our capabilities by producing our great constitution & conducting First election with adult franchise. Not an easy task for such a poor & oppressed nation.

A murder conspiracy from 1989 which brought two of the biggest business houses of India in direct confrontation.
The conspiracy to assassinate Nusli Wadia and how Reliance group was dragged into it.
The buried startling case & hidden theories behind. 🧵
1/
In July 1989, Mumbai Crime Branch arrested 2 different background men in a case.
One was a small time musician Arjun Babaria.
Another was Kirti Ambani, a senior manager who was head of Reliance PR. This made headlines.
Note- Kirti wasn’t related to the Ambani Family.
2/
Before that, on 12 July 1989, Nusli Wadia was told at the airport that his life is in danger by govt officials who were trying to catch people who floated his “supari” in Mumbai underworld.
Nusli Wadia was made to avoid risks & kept under security.

A non exhaustive list of people who became a casualty of Shatru Hanta Yog of PM Modi’s kundali (as per astrologers).
1. Chimanbhai Patel- last significant congress leader from Gujarat who could become CM there.
Modi was tasked to start a campaign against him in state.
1/
2. Keshubhai Patel.
Another ex CM of Gujarat.
Member of BJP, RSS. Was unhappy when Modi rose as PM candidate. Made a party which did not even a scratch to Modi & BJP. Merged with BJP later.
2/
3. Shankarsinh Vaghela
A strong opponent and long time politician which just could not better Modi. Another man who was Gujarat’s CM once and never liked Modi’s ascent & national role.
I shared one Raja Ravi Varma painting and you all liked it.
So, I am sharing another which is a lesser known masterpiece from Raja Ravi Varma’s works.
This painting is known as “Krishna Shishtai” or “Krishna as an envoy”.
1/
Story- Here Krishna is in court of Dhritrashtra with the peace offering of Yudhisthir. He did it as Yudhisthir was aware of impending doom by the great war.
But, Duryodhana was furious & ordered Dushasana to capture Krishna and himself took out his sword.
2/
All the old men in scene are aware of grave mistake Duryodhana is committing and some are even shocked to hear his command.
The facial expressions of old men are different from young ones as they know who is Krishna in real.
Arguably, this painting “Victory of Indrajit” is best work of Raja Ravi Varma.
This painting has many characters, everyone with a story in their expressions, Varma showed his mastery with light & shadows in it.
1/
Theme- this is a scene where Indrajit, son of Ravana is presenting his war trophies to his father after defeating Indra.
He is looking towards Sachi, wife of Indra. His gaze is victorious. Standing at lower pedestal—hierarchy in family where his father & uncle is present.
2/
Sachi is in sorrow (open hair) and despair (disheveled clothes). Her royal stature is still visible in her skin tone and disgust on her face.
Dark skin attendant is in contrast to show misbehaviour with her. She is looking towards skies as if to find Indra there.
If you do not know about Devendra Sharma, you need to read this.
One of the most dangerous serial killers of India. Looked like a typical man who would offer you his food in railway journey.
125+ illegal kidney transplants, 50-100+ murders, several fraud, robbery charges.
1/
Devendra Sharma completed his BAMS & started as an Ayurveda practitioner.
In early 1990s, he was conned by someone with promise of gas agency in Jaipur & he lost ₹11 lacs. After that, he was steered towards crime.
He started small frauds here & there.
2/
Then, in mid 1990s, he came in contact of an inter state kidney transplant racket. Poor people either by money or by fraud were trapped & were convinced to sell their kidneys.
Sharma earned ₹5-7 lacs per operation as his cut. In few years, was involved in 125+ cases.
