One of my worst experience with bedbugs is a trip from Madurai to Chennai on a Tamilnadu State Roadways Bus.

#Breaking my house has been invaded by bedbugs !!

Yesterday night I couldn't sleep because of insect bites. Woke up and started cleaning the mattress as I realised there were some ants and small insects. I realised the mattress which is white I really need to clean it...

So, entire night I wiped it with soap and all. Slept at 5 in the morning. Woke up late in the afternoon and resumed cleaning. I was marveling at my work after finishing and then I noticed some black spots !!

I tried to wipe it but it will literally dissolve and leave a mark in the mattress !! Then I realised something very small is coming out from inside the mattress !! It has to be something alive !!

I used to leave the door open at night for fresh air to come. Some insects will come but I didn't pay attention. They were bedbugs !! Must be coming from one of my neighbors. I have discovered there is like three four different generation now in my bedroom.

Like PRC they have encroached in my bedroom while I thought they were harmless and they have now grown and laid eggs and started biting !!

One thing I realised they become more active at night, They prefer don't sunlight. Also they swell up if comes in contact with water, and then if you touch it they disintegrate. Funny thing is when dry they are very hard and difficult to squash

I don't know what to do with the mattress. For now I have taken it out and put it in the balcony.

Then in the evening I realised the bedbugs have encroached in the wooden chair I kept in the balcony !! I emptied a can of mosquito repellent on it. But this is not a solution.

I need to act and act decisively. I have locked all other rooms and decided to cleanse this room of chinese infiltrator, I mean bedbugs !!

If any one knows some super effective solution for bedbugs please let me know ASAP. Thanks.

Searched the internet, apparently bedbugs don't fly. So, I have two different sets of problem. Also, how did the creatures come to my room ?

Washed the room with phenol. Also have switched on a room heater as apparently they don't like heat !!

I need to get a vacuum cleaner

Okay. Finally slept peacefully last night.

Update: These are not bedbugs. They can fly. As per all the websites I have seen bedbugs can’t fly. Some relief !!

These are some tiny black insects which have flown in as I used to keep the glass doors open. Whatever it is they are nasty and scheming creatures. Till they gained foothold they were not biting

Since these are not bedbugs I think my mattress can be salvaged after all. I think I overreacted. But I am not taking chances. I will cleanse the room of all dirt and insects. Wash all the clothes first.

Surely they are not biting me in self defence!! What algorithm do they use to find places to bite ? Locate their prey ? Are human beings their only source of food? How long the eggs survive? What exactly is the conducive environment for them to grow? Do they hibernate if no food

Seems like what is bugging me right now are 🐜 ants, red angry vicious ants

Everything was fine even three days back

I am going through ups and downs. Just half an hour back I thought that I have located the source of insect infestations turns out there are different varieties of insects... I have located four ... from size of pinhead to size of a needle’s end

I think best case scenario is apart from ants these are flies which had grown rapidly thanks to vegetable waste which I kept in balcony and forgot to dispose. The small ones are babies which have just come out of eggs?

I am going to fry them. I think these time they are hiding in the bed sheet. I am going to iron it !!

Eureka!! The launching pad of needle heads identified!!

Still couldn’t bring myself to throw it. Packed it in airtight plastic. Now wondering where to keep it ?

But this means the other two books which I recently salvaged and had fungus would also have this insects. Shit !! I have kept the other two books in the study room !! Damn !!

Book bugs!!!

The Topology book, I bought it while I was doing my BA ...mainly because the cover page looked enchanting!! couldn’t figure out much and got intimidated. It got soiled once & I had kept it aside. After shifting here found the book while sorting started browsing before discarding

I realised it is such an amazing book. So, once again instead of discarding I kept it. It was lying in a corner ... the launch pad of the needle heads!!

So, I have identified the launch pad of three kinds of buggerists!!

Heaven.

I feel like running away now. I have been fighting this menace since last three days nonstop. I can’t take this anymore. I feel like booking a nice room in a hotel and sleep peacefully at least for a day or two.But there is no point giving up. I will eradicate these bugs then see

How can such a population explosion happen overnight!!

So, washed the room and wiped it with phenol. Lot of benemy got decimated and wiped out. But washing and wiping wooden floor is not a great idea. There has to some powder / spray which kills insects. Have to search !!

This is not good !!

Since these bugs won’t let me sleep went and washed clothes. 5 buckets ... around 20-25 clothes and soaked 4-5 in the tub as ran out of detergent. Also, I have taken bath more than 5 times in last 24 hours

I need to buy some good vacuum cleaner. Last time I bought eureka Forbes I didn’t find it useful then it got shorted.
