I run a small business. (Two, actually, but that's beside the point.) The only times the #USPS has *ever* failed me have been when they passed a package off to another mail system outside the country or a package got stolen after delivery. 1/2
Also once when I put the wrong ZIP code on something, USPS told me it was the wrong ZIP, and I insisted. I was wrong. Package came back to me unharmed. 2/3
Both #UPS and #FedEx have failed me multiple times (I once had to refund a $280 order when UPS overnighted it to MY house instead of my customer's) and I barely use them.
Friends, I go to CVS a lot. Like several times a week. Long story but we have some medical issues in our house.
And, yeah, I usually go through the drive thru but a few times a month I have to go in because I know there's going to be a problem of some kind or another - usually insurance related.
Here's my point: Every single time, without fail, that I go to CVS, there is a customer there that cannot afford their meds. Every time. 3/
Oaks complaining about protestors not being peaceful and following it up with a "learning to live together" and a reference to "government's legitimate police powers" is either an intentional dog whistle or the most tone-deaf speech i have ever heard.
Adding in women's suffrage and the end of slavery does not absolve him.
And Oaks is SMART, y'all. He knows exactly what the impact of his words will be.
First, it's super confusing. How many people will think this is their balance? Or that somehow all this money has ended up in their accounts? 2/
But beyond that, it does a few very underhanded and malicious things to everyone who sees it. It says, "We consider checking and savings balances of $100K each to be normal." That isn't serving their customers. Over 70% of American households are living paycheck to paycheck. 3/
It is small and brown and furry and adorable as hell, but also probably terrified. Husband is trying to get it outside with a broom and it is NOT HAVING THAT.
It just flew upstairs. Seriously, until two years ago I wasn't surprised to find anything co-habitating with us, because the roof was just so old and decrepit, but now? Now I'm surprised.
Yesterday marked a year since my heart attack. My symptoms were chest pressure that felt like heartburn, eventually radiating into my jaw; weakness in my left arm; difficulty breathing. 1/
Anxiety and malaise are also common symptoms, but if you know me you know that's how normal feels too. 2/
If you get symptoms like this and they start driving you nuts, GO TO THE HOSPITAL. Not an urgent care. Call an ambulance if you don't have someone to drive you. You won't be able to drive yourself. 3/
