1/ CREATIVITY WILL SAVE MANKIND

*Some beauty for your day*

Whether you believe Free Energy (Tesla), AI, &/or self-driving vehicles are around the corner & will take away 98% of human jobs, let me assure you of one thing:

Man needs purpose. And creativity will save Mankind

2/ Let’s assume for a minute that the aforementioned happen & the following are achieved without humans:

-farming
-building
-design
-art/music/books
-delivery/driving-&-travel-related
-news
-language
-programming
-finance

Etc... all those are happening

I have a friend who...

3/... is convinced that when all our needs are met, it will lead to the ruination of mankind’s spirit & sense of purpose

I say NONSENSE

It will FREE man to do whatever he wants

Say you’re a luthier; if a machine can bang out a 1000 Fenders, does it diminish your pleasure...

4/... If you build something like THIS?!?

5/ If AI reads every poem known to man & learns how to write a beautiful poem, does it diminish your pleasure if you write something like this?

6/ Here’s my question for you - in fact, I’ll make it a two part poll:

First:

Have you ever - as a working adult - made something for your own pleasure from scratch, be it poem, a carpentry project, a film, or coding (etc)?

7/ If you answered NO to the above question

Why not?

8/ I reckon most people say yes, but I know many might say no - and if they do it’ll be for one of the above reasons

I suspect #2 is a big one, but a combo of 1 & 4 are the biggest

Here’s the thing:

9/ We live in the Internet age

I grew up never learning to work with my hands. At ALL

In my 30s, I learned how to install flooring, fix a washer/dryer, & carpentry.

I can build things people USE - but I do it for myself.

That’s not even my main passion; I’m a novelist/writer

10/ I learned those “hands on” skills because I had to - AND THE INTERNET TAUGHT ME ALL I NEEDED TO KNOW.

2 or 3 videos, I installed a floor

1 video, I found the faulty circuit in my dryer & replaced it

100 videos, I’ve learned carpentry - slowly, but with great pleasure

11/ Now, go back to my “WHY” poll

Imagine all our needs are met by the miracles of science & almost no one NEEDS to work

*We will have no reason not to learn things for sheer joy & love of the work*

In this scenario, two of the above will be the main problem:

12/ They are #2 & #3

Or

Fear & Apathy/Depression

***Those are psychological blocks***

& they are blocks WHICH MUST BE OVERCOME FOR YOUR HAPPINESS ANYWAY

13/ I say this because we should be thinking strategically: imagine all our wildest dreams come true & all our needs are met

*** What will you do with your life then? ***

I suggest you figure that out - and start doing it NOW
