I am at Kenton Park, in North Portland, where a hundred-ish people have gathered to engage in some sort of resistance to the local police. No idea what tonight will bring, but police were super violent this weekend and last night protesters at the 7/11 attacked a drunk driver.
This is definitely the size of crowd you would expect after a super nasty weekend. People get drained and beat up. This few people tend to either be ignored by the police, or subjected to horrific violence. It is impossible to say which.
The crowd is getting ready to roll out. Night 82 kicking off y'all.
As has become tradition, the crowd matches out to the tune of Bella Ciao.
Chanting "Black Lives Matter" the crowd begins to advance.
With a warning that "eyes are behind us" the crowd turns onto North Lombard. I can see Heavenly Donuts in the immediate horizon.
A closer shot of the PPA building, which is semi permanently boarded up and covered with graffiti thanks to the uprising.
Much has been added to the PPA. Standout line: "I'm done being afraid."
The crowd sits back and awaits whatever is to come. A speech plays on very nice set of speakers. Pretty powerful, to my ears.
Here is a closer look at the very sweet backpack mounted sound system currently flowing over the crowd and PPA.
A driver in a van leans out of his window in front of the vehicle barricade and begins shouting Dominionist Christian slogans at protesters:

"The devil is going to eat you alive. The kingdom of heaven is at hand!"
Joey Gibson showed up to yell at people about last night's assault. People yelled at him and tossed beverages at him. I am opting not to post any video of this because Joey sucks and does not deserve attention.
The Portland Police suspect that people might be attempting to break into the PPA building. They tell people to stand clear of it on pain of arrest.

Weird that this happened right as Joey showed up. The crowd's behavior did not seem to have changed.
The Police have arrived. As this shot starts, you can see the PPA building is intact and unmolested, save for some graffiti.
Hey look, a bunch of cops!
One officer has failed to clean all the paint off his uniform. We are all so busy these days.
The Police retreat and throw a grenade. A protester throws it back. They light him and the crowd up with pepperballs. Then they drive off.
A protester makes the interesting decision to carry the smoking grenade back into the crowd.
Demetria Hester is here, and people are very happy to see her. She begins to sing the crowd's favorite song.
Footage of a public bus rolling by. The crowd parts. The driver puts his fist in the air. The crowd cheers.
Letha Winston, the mother of Patrick Kimmons, who was shot in the back by Portland Police, shows up and expresses her anger that folks are just sorta chilling now that the police are here. The crowd's initial response is very muddled.
The crowd has now assembled around Letha. There seems to be broad support for her plan to march on from the PPA.

I am not convinced that marching through neighborhoods will work much better than this. But she is clearly right that the cops don't care about this march at present.
She gives an extended speech, where she expresses her frustration that people were sitting down. Her belief is that marching in neighborhoods and waking people up is what will force change.
Once Letha leaves, there is significant disagreement about what to do next. Many people want to march, but they disagree about where. Some point out that folks must be gathered and medics and barricade folks brought along. Confusion reigns. The crowd splits.
The bulk of the crowd has decided to stick with Demetria Hester. They are still out in front of the PPA.
Oh, the small chunk of the crowd that marched off has returned. I no longer have any clear idea what is happening.
Welp, I'm back home. When I drove past the PPA about 15 minutes ago there were 30ish people left and some barricades. No police.
