Here’s my take:
He gets into politics for altruistic reasons. He’s actually a human (not a lizard alien) and he decides he should bring his significant skills to the table in the service of the public. Very honourable.
Now, $41,000 is chump change for Bill. Don’t hate him because he’s successful. But he would not know if it was on his Amex or someone else’s. His business manager?
Craig Kielburger’s We comped his trip.
I very much doubt Bill knew. Until the scrutiny came.
This isn’t culpable anything. Except to the cons and a few biased or opportunist media folks.
So what are his options?
He owes nobody nothing. If the Canadian political scheme is such bullsh!t that he’s going to get pilloried for this, it’s beneath him. He doesn’t deserve it. And, frankly, we don’t deserve him if we let a good person be so brutalized in such case.
Poor fellow. He did everything right. He did it for the right reasons. He did it selflessly. He was good.
I wish him well.
Good luck @Bill_Morneau and thanks for your public service. 👍
