Located on the Sandringham line. The original station opened 19 Dec 1859 as Chapel Street, was renamed Windsor 1 Jan 1867.

Original terminus for trains on Brighton Beach line, which was built in 1859 & operated by the St Kilda & Brighton Railway Co. and who built the loop branch line to St Kilda connecting the Brighton line to the Melb to St Kilda line, which opened in 1857.

Loop line crossing over St. Kilda Road just north of Union Street. A similar bridge crossed Hoddle Street, later being renamed Punt Road. Same locoation in 2015.

Shortly after the loop line constructed, a direct connection was built between South Yarra & Windsor stations 1860. Fell into disuse. Structures removed

For a while, as a boy, I lived in Albert St a few hundred yards from Windsor station. It was a second home for a time .. 😎
