Royal Makeover! The iconic Mumbai-Pune Deccan Queen Express train gets a makeover with new colour shade of 'Restrained Imperium' designed by @NID_India Why the colour was chosen and what does it mean? Read my story here: m.mid-day.com/articles/iconi… Image

There were three concepts in the @NID_India design. The Indian railways chose this one. Image
There were a combination of shades proposed, but the Indian Railways chose this. Image
The @NID_India says it visited and spoke to passengers and all stakeholders. But the pics attached in the presentation with design kids team interactions look from different trains, including a double decker and an Utkrisht rake. Image
Going by the feedback, not a single person, except the railway board elite and the design creators at NID team, seem to have liked it. Image
The presentation looks to justify every single move. This because of that & that because of this. But designing & art works well with freedom, not such justifications. Is there a serious lack of creative quotient or there's something more to it? Also, it must have had a cost, na? Image
