7. - SAW, Oh you who believe send your prayers and enough salutations to him (SAW) .
And Allah promised that when we do this assignment in which Allah Himself partake on as against other worships, He will also say the prayer for us. He said :
هو الذى يصلى عليكم وملائكته

8. ليخرجكم من الظلمات إلى النور وكان بالمؤمنين رحيما

9. multiple Hadiths the benefits of sending this Salat upon him. The best of examples to show this goes thus:
ﺮﻭﻯ ﻣﺴﻠﻢ (408 ) ﻋَﻦْ ﺃَﺑِﻲ ﻫُﺮَﻳْﺮَﺓَ، ﺃَﻥَّ ﺭَﺳُﻮﻝَ ﺍﻟﻠﻪِ ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﺍﻟﻠﻪُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﻭَﺳَﻠَّﻢَ ﻗَﺎﻝَ :
ﺮﻭﻯ ﻣﺴﻠﻢ (408 ) ﻋَﻦْ ﺃَﺑِﻲ ﻫُﺮَﻳْﺮَﺓَ، ﺃَﻥَّ ﺭَﺳُﻮﻝَ ﺍﻟﻠﻪِ ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﺍﻟﻠﻪُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﻭَﺳَﻠَّﻢَ ﻗَﺎﻝَ :
10. «ﻣَﻦْ ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﻋَﻠَﻲَّ ﻭَﺍﺣِﺪَﺓً ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﻋَﺸْﺮًﺍ » .
Muslim from Abu Hurairah that the prophet SAW said :
" He who says a single Salāt upon me Allah will say ten to him ".
ﻭﻗﻮﻟﻪ : « ﻭﻣﻦ ﺻﻠﻰ ﻋﻠﻲ ﻋﺸﺮ ﻣﺮﺍﺕ ﺻﻠﻰ

« ﻣَﻦْ ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﻋَﻠَﻲَّ ﺻَﻠَﺎﺓً ﻭَﺍﺣِﺪَﺓً ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﻋَﺸْﺮًﺍ، ﻭَﻣَﻦْ ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﻋَﻠَﻲَّ ﻋَﺸْﺮًﺍ ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ
« ﻣَﻦْ ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﻋَﻠَﻲَّ ﺻَﻠَﺎﺓً ﻭَﺍﺣِﺪَﺓً ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﻋَﺸْﺮًﺍ، ﻭَﻣَﻦْ ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﻋَﻠَﻲَّ ﻋَﺸْﺮًﺍ ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ
13. ﻣِﺎﺋَﺔً، ﻭَﻣَﻦْ ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﻋَﻠَﻲَّ ﻣِﺎﺋَﺔً ﻛَﺘَﺐَ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﺑَﻴْﻦَ ﻋَﻴْﻨَﻴْﻪِ : ﺑَﺮَﺍﺀَﺓً ﻣِﻦَ ﺍﻟﻨِّﻔَﺎﻕِ، ﻭَﺑَﺮَﺍﺀَﺓً ﻣِﻦَ ﺍﻟﻨَّﺎﺭِ، ﻭﺃَﺳْﻜَﻨَﻪُ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻳَﻮْﻡَ ﺍﻟْﻘِﻴَﺎﻣَﺔِ ﻣَﻊَ ﺍﻟﺸُّﻬَﺪَﺍﺀِ

At-tabraniyy in Jamiul Kabir and Sageer, from Anass Bn Malik that the prophet SAW said:
"Whoever says one salāt upon me Allah will say ten to him, and whoever says ten Salawāt upon me Allah will say 100 to him and whoever says 100 Salawāt upon me Allah will write in between

The Prophet SAW answer by saying the famous salatul Ibrahim
عن ﻛﻌﺐ ﺑﻦ ﻋﺠﺮﺓ ﺭﺿﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻨﻪ ﻗﻴﻞ ﻳﺎ ﺭﺳﻮﻝ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺃﻣﺎ ﺍﻟﺴﻼﻡ ﻋﻠﻴﻚ ﻓﻘﺪ ﻋﺮﻓﻨﺎﻩ
17. ﻓﻜﻴﻒ ﺍﻟﺼﻼﺓ ﻋﻠﻴﻚ ﻗﺎﻝ ﻗﻮﻟﻮﺍ ﺍﻟﻠﻬﻢ ﺻﻞ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﺤﻤﺪ ﻭﻋﻠﻰ ﺁﻝ ﻣﺤﻤﺪ ﻛﻤﺎ ﺻﻠﻴﺖ ﻋﻠﻰ آل ﺇﺑﺮﺍﻫﻴﻢ ﺇﻧﻚ ﺣﻤﻴﺪ ﻣﺠﻴﺪ ﺍﻟﻠﻬﻢ ﺑﺎﺭﻙ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﺤﻤﺪ ﻭﻋﻠﻰ ﺁﻝ ﻣﺤﻤﺪ ﻛﻤﺎ ﺑﺎﺭﻛﺖ ﻋﻠﻰ آل ﺇﺑﺮﺍﻫﻴﻢ
18. ﺇﻧﻚ ﺣﻤﻴﺪ ﻣﺠﻴﺪ.

ﺍﻟﺤﻖ ﺑﺎﻟﺤﻖ) ، ﻭﺍﻟﺪﺍﻣﻎ ﺟﻴﺸﺎﺕ ﺍﻷﺑﺎﻃﻴﻞ ، ﻛﻤﺎ ﺣﻤﻞ ﻓﺎﺿﻄﻠﻊ ﺑﺄﻣﺮﻙ ﻟﻄﺎﻋﺘﻚ ، ﻣﺴﺘﻮﻓﺰﺍ ﻓﻲ ﻣﺮﺿﺎﺗﻚ ، ﻏﻴﺮ ﻧﻜﻞ ﻓﻲ ﻗﺪﻡ ، ﻭﻻ ﻭﻫﻦ ﻓﻲ ﻋﺰﻡ ، ﻭﺍﻋﻴﺎ ﻟﻮﺣﻴﻚ ﺣﺎﻓﻈﺎ ﻟﻌﻬﺪﻙ ﻣﺎﺿﻴﺎ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻧﻔﺎﺫ
ﺃﻣﺮﻙ ، ﺣﺘﻰ ﺃﻭﺭﻯ ﻗﺒﺴﺎ ﻟﻘﺎﺑﺲ، ﺁﻻﺀ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺗﺼﻞ ﺑﺄﻫﻠﻪ ﺃﺳﺒﺎﺑﻪ ، ﺑﻪ ﻫﺪﻳﺖ ﺍﻟﻘﻠﻮﺏ ﺑﻌﺪ ﺧﻮﺿﺎﺕ ﺍﻟﻔﺘﻦ ﻭﺍﻹﺛﻢ ، [ ﻭﺃﻗﺎﻡ ] ﻣﻮﺿﺤﺎﺕ ﺍﻷﻋﻼﻡ ، ﻭﻣﻨﻴﺮﺍﺕ ﺍﻹﺳﻼﻡ ﻭﻧﺎﺋﺮﺍﺕ ﺍﻷﺣﻜﺎﻡ ، ﻓﻬﻮ
ﺃﻣﻴﻨﻚ ﺍﻟﻤﺄﻣﻮﻥ ، ﻭﺧﺎﺯﻥ ﻋﻠﻤﻚ ﺍﻟﻤﺨﺰﻭﻥ ، ﻭﺷﻬﻴﺪﻙ ﻳﻮﻡ ﺍﻟﺪﻳﻦ ، ﻭﺑﻌﻴﺜﻚ ﻧﻌﻤﺔ ، ﻭﺭﺳﻮﻟﻚ ﺑﺎﻟﺤﻖ ﺭﺣﻤﺔ . ﺍﻟﻠﻬﻢ ﺍﻓﺴﺢ ﻟﻪ ﻣﻔﺴﺤﺎﺕ ﻓﻲ ﻋﺪﻟﻚ ، ﻭﺍﺟﺰﻩ ﻣﻀﺎﻋﻔﺎﺕ ﺍﻟﺨﻴﺮ ﻣﻦ ﻓﻀﻠﻚ. ﻣﻬﻨﺂﺕ
ﻟﻪ ﻏﻴﺮ ﻣﻜﺪﺭﺍﺕ ، ﻣﻦ ﻓﻮﺯ ﺛﻮﺍﺑﻚ ﺍﻟﻤﻌﻠﻮﻝ ، ﻭﺟﺰﻳﻞ ﻋﻄﺎﺋﻚ ﺍﻟﻤﺠﻤﻮﻝ ﺍﻟﻠﻬﻢ ﺃﻋﻞ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺑﻨﺎﺀ ﺍﻟﺒﺎﻧﻴﻦ ﺑﻨﻴﺎﻧﻪ ﻭﺃﻛﺮﻡ ﻣﺜﻮﺍﻩ ﻟﺪﻳﻚ ﻭﻧﺰﻟﻪ. ﻭﺃﺗﻤﻢ ﻟﻪ ﻧﻮﺭﻩ ، ﻭﺍﺟﺰﻩ ﻣﻦ ﺍﺑﺘﻌﺎﺛﻚ ﻟﻪ ﻣﻘﺒول
ﻮﻝ ﺍﻟﺸﻬﺎﺩﺓ ، ﻣﺮﺿﻲ ﺍﻟﻤﻘﺎﻟﺔ ، ﺫﺍ ﻣﻨﻄﻖ ﻋﺪﻝ ، ﻭﺧﻄﺔ ﻓﺼﻞ ، ﻭﺣﺠﺔ ﻭﺑﺮﻫﺎﻥ ﻋﻈﻴﻢ
The both hadith from Abdullahi Ibn Mas'ud RA and Aliy RA depicts that the prophet only thought the Companions a format on how to say your Salawāt to him.

If there was to be a one and only way to say Salat to the prophet , the prophet himself wouldn't have been reported to have mentioned only Salatul Ibrahim in more than 3 ways and methods ..
Assalat here means Addu'a as we have explained, so it only take one who doesn't want

اللهم رب هذه دعوة تامة وصلاة قائمة آت محمد الوسيلة والفضيلة والدرجة الرفيعة وابعثه المقام المحمود الذى وعدته....
And if any one say a salat and ask for the Wasilah for the prophet as directed by him those fuddy duddy will still tell you its not accepted
اللهم رب هذه دعوة تامة وصلاة قائمة آت محمد الوسيلة والفضيلة والدرجة الرفيعة وابعثه المقام المحمود الذى وعدته....
And if any one say a salat and ask for the Wasilah for the prophet as directed by him those fuddy duddy will still tell you its not accepted
since they are custodians of heaven and hell...may Allah safeguard our Imān for us.

Oh Allah say a salat to our leader Muhammad ; The opener to the closed And the seal to the forgone (prophets and messengers) supporter of truth with truth and the guide/conductor to the straight path and to say salawāt to his household with the value of his worth (to you Allah)
and his magnificent magnitude.

Record has it that Sheikh Muhammad Al-Bakriyy (one of the prominent sufi and Walliyyullahi of his time ) made a devotion to Allah to teach him a prayer upon the prophet which garner a lot of benefits and as such he set out for worship towards it, and finally a little slumber
got him and he was thought the Salatul Fatih in his dream by the prophet SAW and upon waking up he saw a paper close to him carrying this same Salatul Fatih on it.

ﻓﻘﺎﻝ : " ﻟﻘﺪ ﺳﺄﻟﺘﻨﻲ ﻋﻦ ﺷﻲﺀ ﻣﺎ ﺳﺄﻟﻨﻲ ﻋﻨﻪ ﺃﺣﺪ ﻣﻦ ﺃﻣﺘﻲ -
ﻓﻘﺎﻝ : " ﻟﻘﺪ ﺳﺄﻟﺘﻨﻲ ﻋﻦ ﺷﻲﺀ ﻣﺎ ﺳﺄﻟﻨﻲ ﻋﻨﻪ ﺃﺣﺪ ﻣﻦ ﺃﻣﺘﻲ -
ﺃﻭ : ﺃﺣﺪ ﻗﺒﻠﻚ " ﻗﺎﻝ " : ﺗﻠﻚ ﺍﻟﺮﺅﻳﺎ ﺍﻟﺼﺎﻟﺤﺔ ، ﻳﺮﺍﻫﺎ ﺍﻟﺮﺟﻞ ﺍﻟﺼﺎﻟﺢ ﺃﻭ ﺗﺮﻯ ﻟﻪ . "
Imam Ahmad from Ubadatah bn Sāmit that he asked the prophet SAW saying: Oh prophet of Allah please tell the meaning of the saying of Allah لهم البشرى

We don't have time to say more but Lastly, the SALATUL FATIHI itself completely carries what the Qur'an and Hadith has said about the prophet it goes thus:

So brethren you are left with the option to say a good Salāt upon the prophet or say the one you hear people say, all are accepted and Allah knows the rewards.
