Yack' branch was opened 1891 from Beechworth.
The extension to Yack' closed on 2 July 1954, and the section between Everton and Beechworth on 30 December 1976.

I visited Yack' frequently in the 1960s. A work mate was from Yack' and we had some great weekends away from Melb. Line closed 1954 but I made it to Everton, Bright and Beechworth by rail.

Not dated, probably early 1950s. Would have been interesting trip, particularly Beechworth to Yack', brake tests not withstanding!
Bowser > Beechworth became part of the Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail 1990s. In 2018, work commenced on a $6.2 million project to extend the rail trail to Yackandandah.
