Today GCSE results came out. Lots of anxious students awaiting the outcome of their futures, tensions high & nerves apparent all around, not knowing what will happen when they open that A4 envelope! My daughter was one of them & asked me to respect her decision in going alone. 1/
Although anxious myself & wanting to be with her if only to show my support I stayed at home - not easy for me especially after many disappointing results from A Levels just one week earlier! Rewind a couple of weeks ago ... 2/
My daughter's anxiety, feeling depressed, feeling of despair as she tells me "there is nothing anyone can do, I'm not going to pass, I'm not going to get in to Sixth Form!" I calmly reminder her about the #Powerofprayers, attachment with #Khilafat & ask her to write a letter 3/
She writes her letter & posts the following day. After seeing the multitude of upset students after A level results came out, her anxiety increases again. I ask her to write another letter to Our Beloved Imam (aba) specifically for Maths & Science as per entry requirements. 4/
She kept saying "What's the point? Huzoor will not see my letter in time!" I remind her prayers are answered by Allah (God) and are heard as soon as you complete your letter. Thankfully this response satisfies her, letter written & posted the night before GCSE results! 5/
My daughter joined Year 9 late after moving countries, her GCSE subjects were chosen for her. Despite being predicted lower grades, struggling to cope with different curriculum, she managed to exceed all expectations and achieve amazing results and got in to Sixth Form! 6/
To all my brothers and sisters of faith, I'm sure you can understand the #Powerofprayers and how important it is to strengthen the bond with Our Creator. My daughter cannot stop smiling, feeling #blessed at how her hard work & persistence paid off. 7/
It took her to struggle to truly appreciate how blessed she is. By the grace of God, she told me she will forever be grateful to the favours God has bestowed on her & understands the importance of maintaining a close bond with Khilafat. I'm so proud of you beta now & always! 💞😘
