I reviewed the #Wisconsin Elections Commission staff analysis and recommendation - to stop the #KanyeConJob and deny @kanyewest ballot access - for the @ProjectLincoln.

The commission will reviewing the #KanyeConJob today at 3:00 p.m. CT. It is a public meeting via Zoom that anyone can watch.

The #Wisconsin Elections Commission is comprised of 3 Republicans and 3 Democrats. They will decide whether to DENY or GRANT #ConYe ballot access.
The decision likely rests on whether they buy into the staff's recommendation that #ConYe should be denied because he filed his nomination papers late.
While some signatures (Mickey Mouse, Bernie Sanders and Kanye West himself) were rejected, the staff found that the broader allegations of misrepresentation by nomination paper circulators failed to present "clear and convincing evidence."
Good news is that the staff provided a long and thorough take down of #ConYe's excuses for being late.
Commission staff lambasted #ConYe for a "tortured interpretation" of the 5:00 p.m. deadline that would run through 5:00:59 and runs counter to a "more common and common sense reading" that filings after 5:00 sharp should be rejected.
Staff noted that several people, including a reporter, a Democratic operative and a commission staff member, all saw #ConYe's people walk into the building after 5:00.
His own lawyer admitted she walked in at 5:00:14.
Even then, the staff concluded it would be "virtually impossible" to make it to the third floor office "in the approximate 46 seconds that would have been needed to present the papers for filing before 5:01."
Beyond showing up late, #ConYe's people weren't ready when they arrived. They spent several minutes organizing papers in the office before actually presenting them for filing.
Maybe the best section was the sarcastic reply the staff had ready for the excuse provided by #ConYe and his crew that they were unfairly detained.
As the staff wrote, accepting that excuse would lead to "future candidates claiming they were late because of a high number of red traffic signals … an unexpected detour because of road construction … a slow or maximum capacity elevator ...
… or the plan to park in front of the building had to be modified because all available spots were filled …”
My reading of #Wisconsin law is that it will take a two-thirds vote - 4 of 6 members - to GRANT ballot access to #ConYe.
That means one Democrat would need to join all three Republicans.

On a related note, the staff also recommended that the Green Party presidential candidate be denied ballot access due to an address error.
Finally, the commission will also be meeting in a "closed session" to discussion "election law vioations" ... maybe #ConYe and his #KanyeConJob will be a topic of discussion?
;)
I know we are all about #BannonIndicted right now, but anyone not watching is missing a show!
He both took up the ethically proper position (no transfer) and did so while his cat (yes, CAT) walked across his screen, he picked it up and calmly put it down.
Zoom election law is the best!
Adminstrator Wolfe: My understanding ... election specialist (upstairs) took possession after instructions to turn them in had been done.
Numbering afterward before transferred took additional time.
Maybe he is running for Congress?
Commissioner Spindell just said, "When are the Democrats going to stop trying to suppress the Black vote."
#KanyeConJob
(she is a former filing officer)
Just my guess right now while watching.
Now we are bringing in the staff to testify. The dream of all election staff.
Counsel for #ConYe is OBJECTING to intrinsic evidence. Is it now #KanyeCoverUp?!?
😂😂😂
Papers were in the hands of the West representatives.
Put on the counter and started going through and organizing the papers.
Did not tender for filing at that time.
Waited to talk to management and counsel.
Best of his recollection the papers landed on the desk at 5:01. Organized and filed several minutes later.
