@TheLastRefuge2 This was all five or six years ago when Clinesmith was probably in law school. Page was working for the CIA then, and the FBI knew that in 2013 and 2014 when Page was working undercover for the FBI.

@TheLastRefuge2 The FBI knew before Clinesmith graduated from law school the whole nut about Carter Page and the CIA, including the digraph code. No one in the upper levels of the FBI needed Clinesmith to get more information from CIA in the form of an email that he would later alter...
@TheLastRefuge2 ...or was ordered to alter. His being "ordered to alter" should be considered most likely since they knew all of this from the beginning and didn't need an email from the CIA for any reason other than to get some patsy to change it.
