#Ahmadiyya #FridaySermon #21stAugust2020:

Today´s sermon was primarily about Hadhrat Zubair ibn al-Awam, one of the blessed 10 Companions who were given the glad tiding in their life itself by the Holy Prophet Muhammad of entering Paradise.

Hadhrat Zubair, some generations....

.... back, had the same forefather as the Holy Prophet (not 100% sure on this). He was also a nephew of Hadhrat Khadija I think, one of the noble wives of the Holy Prophet. He was married to Hadhrat Asma, a daughter of Hadhrat Abu Bakr, and the Holy Prophet was also married to...

... one of the daughters of Hadhrat Abu Bakr, thus establishing another relation between him and the Holy Prophet.

Hadhrat Zubair was either the fourth or fifth person to embrace Islam, at a very young age of 12. He was the first Muslim to withdraw a sword from the sheath for...

... the sake of Islam. As it happened, he got false information in Mecca that the Holy Prophet had been martyred. He marched forth to avenge the murder, but stopped at seeing his beloved Prophet safe and sound.

Hadhrat Zubair´s paternal uncle used to torture and persecute him...

... in order to have him apostatise from Islam, but he bore it all patiently and stayed firm on his faith.

His mother, Hadhrat Safiyyah, had done his upbringing by being very strict and harsh on him, saying that she only aimed to make him a strong man. Huzoor added an....

... important here, saying that this was the way of upbringing by Hadhrat Safiyyah, but it doesn´t mean that this is the right way to bring up one´s child. On the contrary, beating children and being too strict on them leads to more rifts and lack of trust between parents and...

... children. Also, we´ve to abide by the laws of the country that we live in, and the European and other western countries don´t allow such a treatment of children.

Hadhrat Zubair named all his sons after the names of men martyred for the sake of Islam, hoping that they too....

... would attain to the status of martyrdom, and it´s speculated that one of his sons was martyred. Hadhrat Zubair himself played the most vital role in the Muslim army´s victory in #Egypt under the Caliphate of Hadhrat Umar.

In the battles that he took part in during the....

... time of the Holy Prophet, he sustained three such deep wounds on the body that one could insert fingers into them (not 100% sure on this).

Once, his son enquired as to why he doesn´t relate to people the sayings of the Holy Prophet as other Companions do. He replied that....

... he fears lest he should unintentionally be attributing false statements to the Holy Prophet. It doesn´t mean of course that other Companions used to attribute false statements to the Holy Prophet, but instead just that he deemed it better for himself to refrain from....

... carrying the risk of lying.

Hadhrat Zubair was amongst the three Companions who were sent by the Holy Prophet to chase and stop a woman who was carrying a letter for the Quraish of Mecca from another Companion, in which an important decision of the Holy Prophet was to be...

... divulged to the said tribe. At being caught and asked about it, the said Companion said that he had neither done this act because he had now come to disbelieve in Islam, nor because he´s a hypocrite. He just wanted to do his Quraish brothers a favour. His explanation was....

... accepted by the Holy Prophet. Hadhrat Zubair was amongst the elect Companions who elected Hadhrat Uthman as the Caliph. He was martyred at the age of 61 or 62 during the Battle of The Camel.

Huzoor then related brief details from the lives of three Ahmadi men who passed....

... away recently, although one of them was martyred in Peshawar recently.....

إِنَّا للِلّٰهِ وَإِنَّـآ إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونْ

The said Ahmadi man was around 60 in age and was shot four bullets outside his medical store. The attack comes as a result of a heavy campaign of hate...

... incited in Pakistan recently, on social media and also otherwise. Even members of the parliament have been playing their part in this. The martyred Ahmadi had spent a brief period in Australia recently, but he came back to Pakistan, desiring to serve his homeland. He had....

... received threats, but he carried on in life without fearing for his life. He would give medicines free of cost to those who couldn´t afford buying them.

The second mention was of a Murrabi sahib who fell ill and passed away from severe fever and typhoid at a very young....

... age of 28, in Narowal in Pakistan. His death came as a shock to the family. He was also supposed to get married soon.

The third mention was of a man who I THINK was a grandson of a Companion of the Promised Messiah.

May Allah grant a rank of honour and an elevated status...

... in the Hereafter, and may He give strength and patience to their beloved ones to deal with these losses; Aameen.

Lastly, Huzoor reminded all of us that we should make special prayers for the safety of our Ahmadi brothers and sisters in Pakistan. He also recited three....

... Arabic prayers which he advised that we too should pray for the Ahmadis in Pakistan.
