A few days ago an anti-trans activist tweeted this image at me. I find it very interesting as it lets us track how anti-trans activism led radical feminists to become tools of the trad right and to alter their past positions, while the trads "gave a bit" too.
I'll skip "feminist" because everyone uses that label in their own way (including Christina Hoff Sommers with her "Factual Feminist").
On abortion, most radfems stand ground so far, though there have been reports of some figures moving to pro-life in Ireland (out of sheer loneliness I guess).
On social programs: a radfem, Julia Beck, testified against reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act.
On "focus on individual rights" it's the trads who gave way, because an anti-LGBT stance is incompatible with individual rights. Their pseudo-libertarianism was always a masquerade anyway.
The majority of anti-trans feminist-identified activists don't really seem very anti-capitalist anymore, though this one might be due to influx of new people, not existing people shifting positions.
(Also, supporting a legal attack on the NHS at the time when the NHS is in danger of privatization...)
The claim of being anti-patriarchy persists. Just how one can be anti-patriarchy while speaking at Heritage Foundation or push a lawsuit with Paul Conrathe remains unclear.
"Pro-comprehensive sex ed": a full-on about-face has happened and radfems now oppose comprehensive sex ed even beyond trans issues, clutching pearls about anal sex etc - reading from the trad right book *fully*. The difference *collapsed* on this one.
"Critical of nuclear family": no longer. Now they support requiring schools to out trans children to their parents, fully playing with the "parents own children" line of the trad right. This difference has also collapsed.
The topic of anti-war/pro-war was never a clear-cut right-left difference in Western politics. There are shifts on all sides here but frankly unrelated to the trans debate.
"Against traditional gender roles": the claim persists in theory, but also butch women being harassed in bathrooms is "acceptable collateral" and men dressing "as women" is somehow "womanface". So the claim is now quite baseless.
I mean of course they do support women working and wearing pants but this is entirely mainstream now, They do not support significant deviation from gender roles *as understood in present Western countries*.
"Pro-gay rights" - it seems that the trads are giving some way here, especially for lesbians, especially the non-kinky non-parenting kind (notably political lesbians like Julie Bindel). Such lesbians never threatened most of the trad picture of the world anyway.
On the other hand many radfems are attacking the mainstream Pride movement, not just for trans inclusion but also for kink/flamboyancy. So on gay issues, both parts of the trad-radfem alliance moved closer to each other.
Trads being "supportive of trans people who try to fit into a gender box" is mostly from the 90s, Paul McHugh ended that. Now it's some radfems who support the transmed/stealth/"demure" trans people. They literally swapped.
Trads opposing porn and prostitution "as violence against women" exists since the previous trad-rafdem alliance of the 80s. They learn well.
