#BreonnaCon was organized by national civil rights group @untilfreedom. Co-founder Linda Sarsour says they promised Breonna Taylor’s family to “bring whatever skills, resources and talents that we have to continue to infuse enthusiasm and consistency into the movements here.”
Some local organizers have welcomed the national megaphone & additional resources Until Freedom brings. They‘ve worked with the Louisville Urban League & the Kentucky Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression.
Chanelle Helm with @BLMLouisville says she had early conversations with Until Freedom about how to amplify local activists without just taking over. She felt like those conversations “fell on deaf ears.”
Metro Councilperson-elect @jecoreyarthur says he initially agreed to be part of a #BreonnaCon panel but withdrew after talking with local community leaders he trusts.
