If Aaron Coleman loses the general, watch him and every single person backing him go "Why would the corporate dems do this?"

I've said before: a lot of supposed progressives don't actually want M4A, they're in favor of being in favor of it.
Not that his particular race has a snowball's chance in a casino that doesn't allow snowballs to gamble of affecting in any way, shape, or form whether or not anyone gets socialized healthcare. At all.
But taking a seat away from the Democrats and flipping it read? That could affect how and whether people get to VOTE, which affects everything.
But people who are *for being for* progressive policies... they have no plan to actually implement them and ultimately don't want to. At the point that they're mainstream positions that are winning at the national level? They've lost their superior identity.
If you're for being for universal healthcare, it makes sense to vote for a toxic candidate with a years-long recent history of abusive behavior and zero signs of remorse who says he's for that thing, even if the actual stakes on that issue are nonexistent.
Because this lets you position yourself as being SUPER FOR it, while everybody who understandably wants that poison pill of a candidate to drop out becomes against it... even if they're just as in favor of it as you are, and maybe have better ideas for how to get there.
I don't just want universal healthcare. I want to be able to stop wanting it. I want to be able to cross that off the list of the things I *have to* want, because I have it. Fight to protect it? As often as necessary. Spend my whole life fighting to get it and not get it? No.
But to the Aaron Colemans of the world... it's the fight that matters. It's the ability to define themselves as willing to fight that matters. And in fairness to him, for once I will say "He's nineteen, this kind of thing is to be expected around that age."
But that's not a reason to vote for him with all the baggage he brings with him.

And there's a lot of properly adult-adults who bring the exact same mindset, who are for things only as a moral wedge issue, a thing that requires/excuses them to fight.
