3/ Chua provided character testimony for Kavanaugh during the confirmation process, and then, guess what? Their daughter is picked to clerk for him. Guess she was attractive enough!

Just one of the most flagrant examples of nepotism ever.
4/ And now Rubenfeld has been suspended for sexual harassment. It's a perfect circle of corruption and abuse.
5/ The federal clerking process is corrupt, rife with nepotism, favor banking, racism and sexism, and should be overhauled.

I don't just want Biden to name his VP. I want him to start talking about who's going to run every department, agency, effort, investigation, initiative.
In lieu of (named) appointments in waiting, task forces to start examining what will need to be done, now.
Like if you assembled a panel of 20 leading experts to figure out how to unfuck the CDC and DHHS, that would be a good start.

1/ Wow @npr just reduced Kansas City’s @QuintonLucasKC quote in the news briefs to be the exact opposite of the thrust of the long interview with him that THEY CONDUCTED in the fuller segment. Sloppy and reckless.
2/ in the full interview with @rachelnpr, the mayor makes clear that 1) he learned of feds in city from twitter 2) wishes they would concentrate on illegal gun sales and cross-state lines gun flows 3) that they had to row back claims of arrests from 200 to 1 ...
3/ and that that arrest was actually conducted by a suburban police department 4) he worried about Mission creep and that this was an election stunt. So the “ok with help” came without about fifty levels of shade. Something you wouldn’t know if you just heard the news roundup...

1/Some of the responses to this thread speak to the utter denial we're at re how we will educate/babysit kids this fall.

In many many places, in person learning for all kids/all days in same buildings only WILL NOT BE SAFE.
2/ We need to prioritize kids who are most vulnerable/food insecure; have single parents; have essential worker parents; need special ed or other support; are at the ages where remote learning is ~impossible and language acquisition is most key.
3/ Districts need to get creative about space. Outdoor learning. Partnering with churches etc for extra space.

There's no one-size solution.

ALL OF IT needs more federal leadership (not gonna happen) and CONGRESSIONAL FUNDS (might).
