Let's play a #prodmgmt game (more of a conversation) !

Big thank to @jjchieferson for brainstorming about this.

First, an "easy" one ...

You have to chose between working on A or B, what do you choose? (1/n)
I hope most of you said A.

This is a bit trickier. Do you do A or B?

B may feel a lot less certain. Should we opt for the sure-and-small-and-not so-valuable A?(2/n)
Lots of teams opt for A because it is certain. But the upside for B could be big ... even if we don't have a specific solution in mind, and even if we don't know how long it will take.

My gut...start B, solution/experiment together.

Next... A or B? (3/n)
a puzzle! You get the idea...

I find this more actionable than value vs. effort (and you can incorporate concepts like cost of delay if you like).

It helps:
1) prioritize
2) address how you'll approach opportunities
3) have a discussion
4) not gloss over uncertainty (4/end)
Wrote a bit more about this:
