Statement by RPNM: “Today’s ruling is another disappointing setback in the call for equal protection under the law. The Lujan Grisham Administration’s ban on in-house dining is not supported by facts or science in any way and is arbitrary and capricious.
This is another example of the Administration exceeding its authority and the High Court accepting it. The ruling manifests the important need for change at the polls this November, including the judiciary.” This statement fails to mention the gravity of the damage caused
to Due Process. I watched the hearing. Me and 700 +/- of my friends. The attorneys who presented the case for the restaurants did a good job. They laid out the criteria in the law that the governor must follow when she finds a SICK person and how she is supposed to proceed to
be able to quarantine that person. The State Legislature does place limits on the Governor's authority, in these situations. The Supreme Court failed to protect members of our society by simply enforcing this aspect of the law. I am even more angry that one of those people
for whom I voted and promoted with other people, failed to protect Due Process. Yes, there were issues with choices made by attorneys for the restaurants. And, yes, there were issues choices made by the district court judge representing himself, but at the end of the day,
this Supreme Court failed to restrain the power of the Executive Branch even to require an explanation of the Executive's action. It is time to #ClearTheBench. Unroll @threadreaderapp
