Opened on 28 Oct 1873, as the temporary terminus of the line from Benalla, before line extended to Wodonga on 21 Nov 1873. Junction for the 2' 6" gauge Whitfield line from 1899.

The narrow gauge railway is on the eastern side of the yard. (bottom of the diagram). The turntable was dual gauge, one of two in Victoria (other at Moe).

Wang' never had major loco servicing facilities. Benalla was the major loco depot for the area.

The narrow gauge lines were to the left of the disc signals. Appears to be shortly after the narrow gauge removed. Probably late 1950s.
