Your skin barrier can be badly damaged with signs of ACNES,
-REDNESS.
-VERY TIGHT SKIN.
-IRRITATIONS.
-YOUR SKIN LOOSES WATER QUICKLY, MAKING IT DEHYDRATED, called TRANSEPIDERMAL WATER LOSS.

All of these are signs that your SKIN BARRIER IS DAMAGED.

Pls RT for someone
Your skin barrier is the top layer of your skin cells and are glued together by lipids. And honestly, if your skin barrier is damaged, everything you apply to treat your skin issues will only result in more disturbing issues. I'm pretty sure you don't like this.
And there are lots of things that damage your barrier;

Over Exfoliation.
Over washing.
Stress and hormonal changes.
Using too much of a product.
Air pollution.
Genetics.
Ageing.

From this list, virtually everyone's barrier is damaged and I think it's time to repair them.
You probably haven't carried out any barrier repair routines before, so let me show you:

1- Wash your face daily with clean warm water at most twice daily.

2- stop exfoliating for a while. While it is good to Exfoliate your skin, doing it two to three times a week
Consistently can be very bad. Going without Exfoliating for a while will not stop you from doing your "fine girl" or "fine boy". All this your, "it's the skin for me pictures" can turn to "it's the legs for me" because you will not want to snap your face again.
I'm actually addressing those who are habitual exfoliators, not you who hasn't exfoliated since you were born, so just go and Exfoliate or else I fit commot your teeth juss now.

Cut down on exfoliating. Give your skin some breathing space.
3- Moisturize your skin very well and frequently too. Those lipids that hold your skin cells together are like cements, And if they are gone, the wall will fall. So you need to replenish them by moisturizing. Please note that there is a moisturizer and there is a body cream.
Don't mistake the two. Moisturize with moisturizers that contains ingredients such as ceramide, niacinamide, panthenol and fatty acids are the best to keep your skin barrier happy and healthy.

Go to the store and look for any moisturizer that contains those ingredients.
I can't help with sourcing out where you can find these products for easy access for now, but with time, soon they will be at your door steps in no time, but for now, you need to do that yourself.

4. Keep your routines simple.

If you are repairing your barrier,
Match your break on those intensive routines. you only need to cleanse, Moisturize and protect with sunscreen. I talked about that yesterday.

Always wear sunscreen, and in 3 weeks, your barrier will be repaired, then you can go back to your other routines.
Remember, "dem no dey paint house until the cement don dry."
