Im thinking of doing a kickstarter or putting a donation button on my Etsy shop. #CreativeFutureStudio is too new to apply for any of the corporate grants for Black businesses.
Which is DEFINITELY by design once I look at them closely. Most of these grants require:
- at least 1 employee
- at least a year in business (so no businesses that started due to COVID will qualify)
- Some kind of official documentation LLC, INC. (which costs money to obtain)
And before "financial literacy" twitter comes to my mentions, I have a radically different business model and goal than the ones you see on "build wealth" Instagram.
Im trying real hard to be more than that.
Cause we deserve more than that.

Attending the zoom meeting of the Rockdale Legislative Delegations about the BioLab chemical plume. #ConyersGA #biolabfire
First off, Im attending via zoom because this meeting was held in a legislative building an hour away from the city at 10am on a workday. If our voices need to be heard, why is this meeting held in this manner?
Zoom audio went out. LIVESTREAM ON YOUTUBE HERE: LIVE | State legislators hold public meeting over BioLab chemical plume ()youtube.com
My biggest problem with voting will always be this:
People telling me to vote are nowhere to be found when I'm doing grassroots work to address the problems they told me voting would fix.
Yall run and tell me to vote, then you sit on your hands.
You don't attend programs.
You don't go to protests.
You don't even retweet GoFundMe's.
You vote and that's it. Cause you don't have any other plan for helping the people you say you care about.
"This is why we have to vote"
NO.
This is why you have to open your hand. Your door. Your wallet.
NO ONE ELSE IS COMING.
Most of yall have no idea what its like to be on your feet ALL day and only come home with 53 dollars to show for it.
And it shows.
Whew. The way yall talk about money. Twitter is full of people who:
-Read "rich dad/poor dad"
-Do poverty cosplay but actually have decent financial access.
-Write about poor people but never had to LIVE on minimum wage.
Good morning to everyone in the universe EXCEPT the couple who made jewelry from the broken glass at protests.
At the @NMAAHC , there are iron grave markers. They were made by the ironworker of an all Black town during the Reconstruction era.
This white lady went to take a picture.
I calmly... firmly... told her she shouldnt do that.
She was about to have a whole gravemarker of a WHOLE deceased Black person in her phone. Walkin around with it.
Showing it to friends as a cool artifact.
Just like somebody is walking around with protest glass around their neck like memorabilia from a lynching.
Cause white witches and goths coming for @FredTJoseph , listen to me real quick: THERE ARE BLACK MYSTICS. Witch aesthetic Instagram doesnt tell you that, but we exist.
And as a whole Black mystic, seeing what he saw in that house, I would've left too.
Follow me for a second.
White people have a bad habit of buying "vintage" cute "little trinkets" to decorate their homes and guest rooms. White people do not have a good track record of knowing where their cultural artifact decor comes from.
So I would've been suspicious at the very least.
NOW...
@FredTJoseph mentioned all the trump paraphernalia in the area of the home.
Yall been calling trump and his presidency EVIL for 4 years. Dont look at a Black man funny when he leaves a home in a trump neighborhood with "kitschy" decor on the shelves.
THAT CONNECTION MATTERS.
