This right-wing imperialist propaganda is coming from one of the most supposedly "left-wing" members of the Democratic Party.

The office of "progressive" Ro Khanna made an entire video doing PR for a right-wing Venezuelan opposition activist, smearing and lying about Venezuela
The Democratic Party always finds a way to turn a progressive cause into a right-wing one.

Instead of defending refugees and immigrants who flee violence caused by US wars, Democrats are attacking Trump *from the right* for not helping right-wing Venezuelans immigrate to the US.
The Democrats try to portray themselves as supporters of refugees and immigrants, but don't care about poor people made refugees by US wars, sanctions, & regime change

Instead, they mostly just care about elite right-wing exiles from Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, Syria, Iran, etc.
Here is another Democrat attacking far-right racist Trump *from the right* on immigration

This right-wing Nicaraguan golpista took part in a brutally violent US-backed coup attempt in 2018. It failed, so she tried to flee to the US, but Trump deported her
Right-wing elites who participate in murderous terrorist coup plots to try to violently overthrow their elected socialist governments in Latin America, and who fail, then flee to the US empire that sponsored those coups.

Then "progressive" Democrats portray them as poor victims.
This Democratic #TeamJoe imperialist, who oversaw Latin America policy for the Obama White House and now works at a neocon think tank, is attacking far-right Trump from the right.

Both the GOP and Dems happily agree on terrorizing Nicaragua and Venezuela
Keep in mind that when the US lobbies on behalf of so-called "democracy activists" and "political prisoners" in Nicaragua, they often mean right-wing golpistas and murderers who participated in the violent coup attempt against the elected Sandinista gov't

This "golden age" was only permitted because the US ruling class was genuinely afraid of a socialist revolution.

The USSR was growing, and socialist anticolonial movements were winning everywhere. So US capital was forced to make big concessions to labor to stave off revolution
The 1950s, '60s, and '70s were the peak for national-liberation movements. With inspiration and support from the Soviet Union and communist China, they successfully overthrow colonial regimes across the planet.

The US and Western European ruling classes were seriously scared
The idea that the US (the global protector of capitalism) would win the cold war was not inevitable. So the US, frightened, invested huge sums of money in counterinsurgency. The CIA funded many "progressive" left-liberal groups, as long as they were anti-communist/pro-imperialist
