Time to finish with Assassin's Creed Landmarks: STONEHENGE... Let's talk about the 56 Aubrey holes that surrounds SH and their significance to the Pagans.

Aubrey holes form a ring around SH and are known as such b/c of antiquarian John Aubrey's foundation of them.

Now, 56 is a unique number in astronomy..

There are 3 theories on how Pagans used Aubrey Holes (AH) and how it relates to their culture and astronomy..

1. Lunar Calendar
A. Take a marker, move AH to AH, Skip one hole everyday... It equals 28.
B. 28-30 days= 1 month🗓️

(2/5)
C. 28 days told them when the next full moon is.
D. In Pagan culture, Moon is a God.. It reigns over the night and they fear it!

2. Menstrual Cycle- it happens once a month!
A. For Pagans, A woman bleeding and then living on is magic! So, AH are fertility indicators!

3. The Eclipse
A. Take your marker, skip two holes a year= 18 or 19
B. Every 18 or 19 years, the eclipse happens.
C. For Pagans, Eclipse is a scary phenomena.
D. The Sun is the ultimate God for Pagans, the sun vanishing scares them, makes them sacrifice to the Sun God.
(4/5)
Winter Solstice was more important to civilization back then than Summer b/c it was the time where the Sun God was at his weakest.

Proof in burials by SH of pig bones🐷that were dead by Winter, meant people sacrificed pigs for the sun to come back the next day, it did!🌅
