* CANCEL CULTURE CONTINUES*

In June my Labour Party LGBT Officer posted a video on a party platform condemning the Party position on GRA reform based on a headline in The Times “Labour stands back from gender debate”.

The officer claimed this put them+the trans community at risk of abuse,assault,deteriorating mental health,suicide and being a 2nd class citizen. There was no consultation about this. I wrote to the Secretary and asked for an urgent,respectful,debate to be held on women’s rights.

I didn’t get a reply but on July 30th a CLP zoom was held to discuss LGBT issues, which considered GRA reform. Several of us called for a speaker from the LWD to be invited. This was finally agreed,speakers invited and set for 10th Sept.
An exec member leaked this to a TRA who

wrote to the exec calling LWD ‘a known transphobic group’ and demanding they be cancelled. The letter was bounced onto the other exec member with 5 minutes notice and, last Thursday they agreed to cancel the discussion about women’s rights. A few of us have complained to the exec

and, as a result, the secretary has blocked us from emailing him. The exec that made the decision to cancel LWD comprised of 8 men + 3 women.
Our efforts to have a discussion about the rights of women are now being portrayed as bullying and harassment and I anticipate complaints

will have been submitted over this weekend. I expect to be at least suspended, if not expelled simply for asking for a respectful debate.
I intend to feed back as many comments as I can so *please comment and share* so I can show there’s support for women out there. #expelme
