When the father of Mitch McConnell’s 2014 campaign opponent was sentenced for criminal campaign finance violations, USPS Governor Duncan’s son made the announcement. McConnell praised “Trump’s” nomination of Robert M. Duncan, Jr. to be USA for EDKY.
The FEC complaint that led to Lundergan’s prosecution by EDKY was filed by the Republican Party of Kentucky, of which Robert “Mike” Duncan was, at the time, national committeeman.
Kentucky’s Republican National Convention delegates for 2016 included Mitch McConnell; Robert “Mike” Duncan; and Elaine Chao’s current Chief of Staff, former insurance agent J. Todd Inman.
Inman, a longtime McConnell donor/operative, reportedly served as the liaison between Secretary Chao’s and her husband’s offices for steering DOT grant money to Kentucky projects.
Secretary Chao also steered at least $64,000,000 to Florida clients of her appointed “advisor on ports” from early 2019 to date.
Secretary Chao’s sister, Christine, is married to a hedge fund manager who very recently purchased a $26.8 million stake in (USPS contractor) XPO Logistics. This is the fund’s first XPO purchase, and it’s grown by $3.55 million over three months.
In 2014, Christine Chao contributed $400,000 to a Super PAC from which all expenditures were made against McConnell’s opponent. She and her daughter have maxed out their contributions to McConnell’s authorized committee in the current cycle.
It was reported that Secretary Chao and her Deputy Secretary, the current Deputy Attorney General, Jeffrey Rosen, have been in communication with Senate Leadership Fund’s leadership.
