I am excited for the #ZoningRedesign initiative in #NewtonMa. This multi-year effort challenges the hegemony of single fam only zoning & reliance on discretionary special permitting (i.e., city councilors shot calling individual renovations). /4

There is a false narrative that #ZoningRedesign work in #NewtonMa is "overnight" - couldn't be further from the truth: City Council work began yrs ago, & current phase extends into late 2021, w/ City holding office hrs throughout + comment period. /5
