DRIVER CRASHES INTO TENNIS COURT, CLAIMS NO FAULT:
1. Early this morning, deputies found this smashed Mazda sedan … in the middle of a high-school tennis court….
2. At 3:45 a.m., deputies responded to the tennis courts at Clackamas High, to a reported single-vehicle crash. A Mazda 3 sedan left the road at Summers Lane, hit a tree — shearing off a tire — and then smashed through a tennis-court fence before coming to rest on the hardcourt.
3. Deputies learned the crash had occurred about two hours prior. The ex-husband of the 24-year-old driver spoke to deputies initially. He told deputies the driver (his ex-wife) was uninjured, but too distraught to talk with us….
Around 1 a.m., one of our deputies contacted a man and a woman in a parked truck in the parking lot of a hotel in Clackamas.
The man lied about his name, but the deputy determined he had a warrant for his arrest for Escape out of Washington....
(cont.) ... The woman (the passenger) was standing outside the truck. When the deputy told the man to step out of the truck, he drove off in an attempt to flee.
The suspect headed south on I-205....
3. Several agencies assisted w/ apprehending the subject. Deputies & officers successfully deployed spike strips, causing a slow deflation of the truck’s front tires.
The driver continued his attempt to flee on two flat tires, but finally stopped on I-205 near SW Stafford Rd...

THREAD: Just before 8 p.m. on June 2, a motorcyclist lost control of his bike in the oncoming lane of Hwy. 211, just outside Molalla.
He fell off the motorcycle just before it smashed into our deputy’s patrol car.
Incredibly, the rider and deputy were not seriously hurt.
As seen on our dash-cam, the patrol deputy was headed east on Hwy. 211 when a motorcycle comes into view travelling at a high rate of speed in the opposite direction.
It appears the rider saw the patrol car and lost control of his bike, crossing into the oncoming lane.
Incredibly, no one was seriously injured.
The rider slid away from the patrol vehicle while the motorcycle went under the patrol car. The deputy suffered some minor injuries due to the impact, but he will be OK.
The two vehicles, however, sustained significant damage.
