Channel 4 News has been told by the agent of Dame Diana Rigg that the British actor died today at the age of 82.

Rigg, known for her roles in The Avengers and Game of Thrones, won BAFTA, Emmy, and Tony awards for her work on stage and screen.
Her daughter said Rigg died in her sleep this morning, having been diagnosed with cancer in March.

She said she "spent her last months joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter and a deep pride in her profession. I will miss her beyond words."
Dame Diana's agent said: “It is with tremendous sadness that we announce that Dame Diana Rigg died peacefully early this morning. She was at home with her family who have asked for privacy at this difficult time. Dame Diana was an icon of theatre, film, and television."
The playwright, Sir Tom Stoppard, said: “For half her life Diana was the most beautiful woman in the room, but she was what used to be called a Trouper. She went to work with her sleeves rolled up and a smile for everyone. Her talent was luminous."
Here is Dame Diana Rigg being interviewed in 1964 about her upcoming role in The Avengers.

Hundreds of thousands of IKEA products are being made from illegally and unethically sourced wood, threatening habitats and endangering animals’ lives, Channel 4 News can reveal.
Trees in Ukraine are being illegally felled at an unsustainable rate by companies selling their wood to IKEA. That’s despite all IKEA timber being certified by the Forest Stewardship Council - the body set up to protect forests.
Locals in Ukraine accuse IKEA of being interested only in “timber and business”, and say that government inspectors are turning a blind eye.

The company claims to be the largest producer of wood furniture in the world, and says it loves wood and the forests it comes from.

But Channel 4 News has seen a leaked copy of the data, from Thursday - the day the system was launched - running up to Sunday.
Across England, 4,456 confirmed Covid-19 cases were reported to test and trace during this time.

Of those, 1,831 had self-registered on the website or been called and completed the NHS Test and Trace form providing information about their contacts.
Between them, they provided 4,634 contacts - of which only 1,749 have been contacted.

Exclusive: Channel 4 News has seen the inventory of the UK government pandemic PPE stockpile - and can reveal almost 80% of respirators were out of date when coronavirus hit.

Watch the full investigation at 7pm tonight, on Channel 4 News.
In total, around 200m pieces of kit - including respirators and masks - had expired in the eight months beforehand.

This included 21m out-of-date respirators, from a total of 26 million. And more than half of the national stockpile of surgical facemasks had also expired.
Expired stock is excluded from distribution, meaning millions of boxes of kit could have been delayed from being sent to hospitals - just as the virus began to spread.

Millions of expired respirators weren’t cleared for release until PPE shortages peaked, between 10-19 March.

Ms Phillips, a prominent member of the Brexit Party and former Head of Media for Ukip, made the admission to @Channel4News after initially strenuously denying any involvement with the disgraced data firm, and pressurising journalists to drop the story.
She backtracked only after Channel 4 News obtained a recording of an interview from 2017 in which she confirms she had been employed by Cambridge Analytica to work for Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
