Participated in the Rotary Club's Programme on the topic 'भारत में सम्पूर्ण साक्षरता - एक दिशा' today. @rotary_india @Rotary
35,000+ clubs of Rotary are working together on significant issues such as promoting peace, fighting conflict, providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene, protecting mothers and children & much more.
#Literacy is a catalyst for development, which enables a person not only to get proper economic, political and social benefits but also to contribute to national and international development.
Under #NEP2020, we aim to achieve 100% Gross Enrolment Ratio in preschool to secondary level by 2030. To help achieve this goal, we have recently started a new program 'Padhna Likhna Abhiyan' a scheme for #adult education.
The main aim of the scheme is to provide functional literacy to illiterate and digitally literate 57 lakh adults aged 15 years and above in both rural and urban areas across the country.
Under #SamagraShiksha, the Ministry of Education has launched #NISHTHA which aims to update the skills and knowledge of 42 lakh teachers in the States and UTs.
We have also taken several initiatives towards the promotion and digitization of e-learning for learners of schools, colleges and universities such as SWAYAM, Swayam Prabha, ePathshala, NROER, PM e-Vidya, DIKSHA, etc.
Vidyadan 2.0, a joint initiative of @Rotary and @ncert, is also a commendable step in which Rotary International will provide e-content in Hindi language to NCERT for all subjects from class 1 to 12. Certainly, this high-quality reading material will greatly benefit our children.
I urge people to unite & diligently work towards making our glorious nation ‘साक्षर भारत - आत्मनिर्भर भारत'.
Ease of Governance and ease of doing business has been the motto of the present government. To action, our moto, PRABANDH system was launched last year to help conduct the PAB meetings to approve annual plans of states under the Samagra Shiksha scheme. (1/5)
It has enabled states to upload plans and everyone to view and appraise it from remote/own locations with automatic compilation by the system, resulting in consolidated recommendations and cost sheets.
This was unimaginable in physical mode. (2/5)

From the development of ‘Corosure’ testing kits, ‘COVIRAP’ for diagnostics to the development of oxygen concentrators and low-cost RT-PCR machines, it is notable to mention that many of the research products have been commercialised through the Incubation Cells and Startups.

Chaired the 51st meeting of the Executive Board of National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) today.
Expressed my satisfaction about the progress made in the promotion of the Urdu language. Many efforts have been made to improve the promotion of Urdu language since 2014, in comparison to the period between 2009-2014.
During 2009-2014, Rs 193.83 crores were sanctioned to NCPUL. However, during 2015-2020, Rs 402.56 crores have been sanctioned. During 2009-2014, there were just 1066 centres offering one year diploma in Urdu language. During 2015-2020, that number went up to 1423.
