Ease of Governance and ease of doing business has been the motto of the present government. To action, our moto, PRABANDH system was launched last year to help conduct the PAB meetings to approve annual plans of states under the Samagra Shiksha scheme. I thank all the Hon'ble Chief Ministers, Education Ministers, and officers associated with the world's largest education system for participating in the high-level meeting chaired by Hon'ble Minister of Defence Shri @rajnathsingh Ji. As envisioned by the Hon'ble PM, the meeting was extremely fruitful as we received immensely valuable suggestions. I have requested the State Governments to send me their detailed suggestions by 25th May.

The Hon’ble Prime Minister has desired that any decision affecting the careers of his beloved students has to be taken in wide consultations with all State Governments & Stakeholders. I recently held a meeting with the State Education Secretaries in this regards. (1/4) The consultative process will be further strengthened through a high level meeting to be chaired by Hon’ble Defence Minister Shri @rajnathsingh Ji, also to be attended by my cabinet colleagues Smt. @smritiirani Ji and Shri @PrakashJavdekar Ji. I attended the meeting with the Directors of the IISc/IITs/IIITs/IISERs along with Minister of State for Education Shri @SanjayDhotreMP Ji and Secretary, Higher Education Ministry of Education Shri Amit Khare Ji. I want to appreciate the positive thinking and positive reactions given by the institutes during this crucial time. It is an effort led by the Institutes of National Importance which will help in creating a positive sentiment in the society.

Honourable Prime Minister reiterated that the well-being of the students has to be the top priority for the Government.

Chaired the 51st meeting of the Executive Board of National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) today. Expressed my satisfaction about the progress made in the promotion of the Urdu language. Many efforts have been made to improve the promotion of Urdu language since 2014, in comparison to the period between 2009-2014.

I attended @AICTE_INDIA’s Lilavati Award Distribution Ceremony today. The empowerment of women is considered to be the biggest measure of progress & social upliftment of any nation. I am happy that AICTE has taken this initiative & paved a path towards equality in #education & #innovation for women.

While applying for JEE(mains), candidates have to select any four cities of their choice. The efforts will be made to allot the city of examination to the candidates in order of choice opted by them in their online Application Form. However, due to administrative/logistic reasons, a different city can be allotted.

Keeping in mind the various suggestions/requests received from aspirants of JEE Mains across the nation, it has been decided to conduct JEE Mains 4 times in a year (Feb, March, April, & May). I announced the dates for the same today. The 1st JEE Mains will be conducted between 23-26 Feb. Session 2 of the exam will take place between 15-18 March. For April, the exam will be held between 27 & 30. Students can give the final attempt from 24-28 May.

Guidelines for reopening of schools/HEIs outside containment zones:
States/UTs may take a decision in respect of reopening of schools & coaching institutes after Oct 15, in a graded manner. The decision shall be taken in consultation with the respective school/institution management. Online/distance learning shall continue to be the preferred mode of teaching & shall be encouraged.
