We have approved the design of a new master plan for Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State, decades after the first and the last one was designed by former military regime of the late Brigadier-General David Bamigboye.
A new master plan is necessary to allow for proper development, prepare for the future, and halt unplanned growth that is creating urban slums and other avoidable crisis of development in the city.
The committee for Offa/Oyun master plan is already in place and it’s working; the one for Patigi will start soon. Same for Lafiagi, Omu Aran, and others. All our major cities will get urban master plans so that we can organise the way we live and plan our infrastructure.
There are places in our city that government's intervention and infrastructure cannot get to because people have built haphazardly. We need to start correcting that in our own interest.

Today, we launched Kwara State Health Insurance Scheme for residents of Kwara state.

We are starting this scheme by onboarding at least 10,000 of the extremely poor among our people. Their premiums have been fully paid. This means the health insurance is 100% free for them.
We hope to expand this and capture many more vulnerable people in the coming years.

A major agenda of this administration is to ensure that Kwara State ticks all the right boxes and achieves the SDGs by 2030. This is beyond empty slogans.
Yesterday, we began the disbursement of Owo Isowo to 21,623 petty traders under our social investment programme. The KWASSIP (@Kwarasip), which also includes safety nets for the aged and vulnerable, seeks to end extreme poverty in our state.

For the sake of accountability and transparency, I am officially inviting the EFCC to come and probe the funds so far received as allocations and disbursed to the 16 local government between May 29 and now.
Our conscience is clear, we have nothing to hide. But for abundance of caution, we will be tasking not just the EFCC but also a panel of inquiry with members drawn from various backgrounds to investigate the LG funds and expose any mismanagement or diversion of funds if found.
This has become necessary in view of strange claims by some persons that money to the tune of N300m was diverted monthly from LG accounts.

I am glad to announce that for the first time since its founding, the Radio Kwara, our collective patrimony that was once upon a time the pride of our people, will be going 24 hours at 12 a.m. on Wednesday.
This is a new chapter for this great radio station. Similar development is in the work for Kwara State Television Authority and the Herald newspaper. I congratulate the management and staff of Radio Kwara for this feat and I urge them to never drop the ball.
I call on every Kwaran, home and abroad, to support the new vision for our own Radio Kwara. The new management has the mandate to make the Radio Kwara the darling of every citizen by giving voice to everyone, broadening the civic space, and adhering to professionalism.

What Kwarans voted for was change. They were tired of how things were being done before. They needed a new beginning to chart a new course. That's the task we are charged with. The question they are asking us is how we are funding our numerous projects?
The answer is because we are prudent in the management of public resources.

For example, all the lawmakers are entitled to a vehicle each. So far, they have sacrificed that. That possibly runs to over a billion. Our commissioners are also entitled to vehicles.
That also runs to over a billion. The Governor and the deputy Governor and their aides are also entitled to vehicles which also run to over a billion. We all have sacrificed such in order to invest in critical infrastructure for the state.
