Ok, I'm going to try to put this in perspective. No one blames cops universally. Yes, some cops are intentionally cruel & think the people they are supposed to protect are "animals", because they are sadists, but most cops are good.
They know the neighborhoods and cities they walk and look after. But they are not mental health professionals.
Since Ronald Reagan closed the asylums & left the mentally ill to fend for themselves, all hell has broken loose. That's the #GOP. "LET THEM FEND FOR THEMSELVES!
STATES, GET THAT PPE BY YOURSELVES!"
A BUNCH OF SHAMELESS, SELFISH SHAREHOLDERS. Cops should not be dealing with the mentally ill or domestic violence. They should be dealing with criminals. The mentally ill are not criminals . They are sick, and should be HELPED not killed.

In response to the entertainment industry shut down caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, New York City's custom costume industry has launched the Costume Industry Coalition (CIC) to advocate for their survival.
Members include over 45 small, unique, independent businesses and artisans--in and around New York City--that create and supply costumes for the entertainment industry. Together they deliver one-of-a-kind costumes for theatre, dance, opera, concerts, theme parks, cruise ships,
ice shows, live entertainments and on television and film worldwide. Members of the CIC collectively employ hundreds of expert artisans, including pattern makers, cutters, stitchers, tailors, milliners, hand finishers, craftspeople, embroiderers, sculptors, painters and dyers.

"Donald Trump has been the worst president this country has ever had. And I don't say that hyperbolically. He is. But he is a consequential president. And he has brought this country in three short years to a place of weakness that is simply unimaginable if you were pondering
where we are today from the day where Barack Obama left office. And there were a lot of us on that day who were deeply skeptical and very worried about what a Trump presidency would be. But this is a moment of unparalleled national humiliation, of weakness.
"When you listen to the President, these are the musings of an imbecile. An idiot. And I don't use those words to name call. I use them because they are the precise words of the English language to describe his behavior. His comportment. His actions. We've never seen a level of

“MY NAME IS ALICE , AND I WAS SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW DENTIST.
I NOTICED HIS DDS DIPLOMA ON THE WALL, WHICH BORE HIS FULL NAME.
SUDDENLY, I REMEMBERED A TALL, HANDSOME, DARK-HAIRED BOY WITH THE SAME NAME HAD BEEN IN MY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS
SOME 30-ODD YEARS AGO.
COULD HE BE THE SAME GUY THAT I HAD A SECRET CRUSH ON, WAY BACK THEN?
UPON SEEING HIM, HOWEVER, I QUICKLY DISCARDED ANY SUCH THOUGHT.
THIS BALDING, GRAY-HAIRED MAN WITH THE DEEPLY LINED FACE WAS WAY TOO OLD TO HAVE BEEN MY CLASSMATE.
AFTER HE EXAMINED
MY TEETH, I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD ATTENDED MORGAN PARK HIGH SCHOOL .
'YES. YES, I DID. I'M A MUSTANG,' HE GLEAMED WITH PRIDE.
WHEN DID YOU GRADUATE?' I ASKED.
HE ANSWERED, 'IN 1975. WHY DO YOU ASK?'
YOU WERE IN MY CLASS!', I EXCLAIMED.
HE LOOKED AT ME CLOSELY.
THEN, THAT OLD,

“With the benefit of 24-hours’ hindsight, it appears that Trump’s attack on peaceful protestors in D.C.’s Lafayette Square marks the end of his presidency. He may continue to occupy the Oval Office, but his tenuous claim to legitimacy as president evaporated with
the first volleys of tear gas lobbed at Americans exercising their First Amendment rights. Trump believes his illegal use of force was a victory because it generated advertising for his 2020 campaign.
In reality, Trump has made a grave miscalculation that will force him to play defense for the remainder of his term. If he remains in Washington, he will be a political prisoner in a White House surrounded by protests.

(THREAD) From a Friend, one of my dancers:

After more than a week of waiting, last night I was told I tested positive for COVID-19. To say that the last week and a half or so has been a challenge would be an extreme understatement. Here is a brief synopsis of my story.
On the 12th, I went to the doctor with a headache and mid grade fever. I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and put on a Zpack. As I was about to complete my prescription, I began feeling worse. My fever spiked to 103 and I could barely sit up. I tested negative for the flu
and was then tested for Corona Virus. Over the past week, I have gotten to points of feeling like I simply couldn’t do it. Despite incredible help from my friends and family at a distance, I was incapable of taking care of myself

“The President knows so little about infectious disease that, on Wednesday, during a news conference, he acknowledged that he was shocked to learn that influenza kills between roughly thirty to seventy thousand people a year in the United States.
Trump said this in public, standing next to Anthony Fauci, who, for decades, as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has been the government’s most prominent and reliable authority on subjects ranging from aids to sars, Ebola, and influenza.”
Fauci is a discreet man, but the look on his face could not hide his shock at hearing the President, a self-described germaphobe, brag that he knows nothing about the diseases that constantly threaten the people he was elected to lead.
