Today marks 50 days until Election Day. Our grassroots team has been talking to voters on a level never before seen in #GA07 and, as we enter the home stretch of this campaign, I wanted to share some of our accomplishments:
I'm proud that my campaign is powered by a diverse group of young people who are leading the important work of connecting with our communities and neighbors. Since May, our team has been joined by over 100 interns.
The scale of our grassroots outreach is a surefire sign that the ground in Georgia is changing, and voters are ready for better leadership. Over just the last couple of months, our team of volunteers has made nearly 100k phone calls to voters.
I am proud to come from a community that prizes diversity and inclusion, and I made it a priority to build a campaign that reflects those values. Our team members self-identify as Black, Indian American, Korean American, Hispanic, Pakistani American, Jewish, and more.
We are also doing the work necessary to empower communities across #GA07 and bring new people into the political process. In addition to holding phone banks in English and Spanish, we are planning to add more languages in the coming weeks.
The last months of this campaign will not be easy. We are up against a pandemic and millions of dollars in dark money spent on @RichforGa's behalf. But I still believe that people matter most. Join our team and help us #FinishTheJob

In 2017, they told me #GA07 could never be won by a Democrat. Now, as the only Democratic candidate in 2020 to flip a seat from red to blue, a lot of people have been asking how we did it. THREAD ⤵️
(2/8) We stayed focused on the issues that mattered, from health care to the economy.

I was the Georgia Senate Budget Director during the Great Recession, and I helped get our economy back on track. Georgians wanted leaders who cared about getting us through this crisis.
(3/8) My campaign was powered by more than 100 organizers, fellows, and interns, who ran a first-of-its-kind voter turnout effort in Gwinnett and Forsyth counties.

We talked to more than 18,000 voters — 12,000 of which voted early or by mail. #gapol #GA07

My opponent @RichforGA has spread misinformation about COVID-19 so many times that it’s hard to keep up. Here’s a timeline of some of his worst offenses to help you keep track:
On February 27th, @RichforGA said that the seasonal flu is worse than COVID-19 and that Georgians had no need to worry, as there were zero confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state. GA now has 150,000+ cases. Gwinnett has the most in GA.
On February 28th, President Trump retweeted @RichforGA’s video praising him after banning Dr. Fauci from TV appearances.

I know many of us are once again grief stricken by seeing horrifying violence against another black American. Only a few weeks ago we grieved for Ahmaud Arbery who went for a jog in his neighborhood and was killed; we grieved for Breonna Taylor ...
who was killed in her own home; now this time we grieve for George Floyd who had the life choked out of him by a police officer kneeling on his neck.

As a white person, it is often hard to know how to respond. To my black friends, neighbors, and community members, please know...
that I see what is happening and bear witness to this suffering.

It's painful both because I see the suffering of another human being and their families, but this grief is then magnified by the horror and injustice of the deaths.
