Has Bill Barr never met a prosecutor?
Has Bill Barr never met himself?
Bill Barr, at it again. washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
Bill Barr, lying about #BlackLivesMatter and police and police violence and the lives of Black people.
Bill Barr, a lawyer, allegedly. cnn.com/2020/09/16/pol…
Bill. Barr.

Slavery “was a different kind of restraint” than public health-related stay-at-home orders, the United States Attorney General said, out loud, to a large group, intentionally, in September 2020.

He lacks reason, compassion, and dignity.
To be clear, Bill Barr basically did a Michael Caputo Facebook Live rant but in the form of a speech and Q&A at a conservative college tonight. news.yahoo.com/barr-takes-aim…
With some good gaslighting thrown into the main speech for good measure. justice.gov/opa/speech/rem…
Bill Barr — who lies about BLM (see above), played a key role in the Lafayette Park debacle, and has pushed an “Antifa” boogeyman narrative all summer and bragged about the “takedown” of Michael Reinoehl — is going to teach students a lesson about “Detachment in Prosecution.”
Anyway, that was Bill Barr. Tonight.

WELL. I read the tax story, and let me say, this is incredible reporting — with an unbelievably complex set of facts told in a relatively accessible way. nytimes.com/interactive/20…
Some parts that jumped out to me. Trump’s property purchases have cost him money, not made him more wealthy. Image
It really looks to me like the story comes as close as possible as they could to saying that he paid the $750 in 2016 and 2017 so that, without releasing his taxes, he’d be able to say he paid taxes in both years. ImageImage

This shouldn’t be happening.
Trump and McConnell want to trample over any process in order to take an action that a strong majority of the country doesn’t want to see happen.
How embarrassing.

Democrats need to respond to Mitch McConnell and Mitt Romney and Cory Gardner et al. trying to fill a Supreme Court vacancy that occurred after voting started by trying to stop them or, at least, making the process as difficult and costly as possible.
And, no, Democrats should not meet with the nominee until and unless McConnell lays out a reasonable timeline for this process — one that makes a floor vote contingent on Trump’s re-election and thus would not end until late Nov or early Dec.
If they want a sham process, it’s a sham process. If they want an actual nomination process, hold an actual nomination process. It’s their decision.

I’m definitely following this ~evolving~ story.
Some reporting on this ridiculousness out of Pennsylvania —>
Let’s also talk about the incredible irresponsibility of the US Attorney here, who had to issue three statements yesterday. In addition to the 9 v. 7 screw-up, it’s clear the first release was a Barr-style politicized prelude to a far less politicized follow-up.

We have many systems that don’t work to protect vulnerable people — and/or actively work to harm them. We have some people, who despite being a growing minority of popular opinion (and the demographics of the country), want to keep those systems in place. This is where we stand.
Systemic changes are necessary because the systems were not created with all of us in mind, let alone to protect all of us. Even many changes big and small to alleviate that exclusion have been watered down or rendered ineffectual by those protecting the old systems.
We see it in the structural problems w/ our federal gov’t. We see it in the way that decreasing democracy & voting is a near-explicit goal of the GOP. We see it in the way police are not held accountable for unjustified killings, especially of Black people. We see it, we see it.
