Plug: This Episode has come out faster than I thought, because @Niloticbantu_ and @mumssoulfood sent good munchies.
Thank them oya!
Pastor is looking through the windscreen towards them. The kisser and the kissee are looking straight at him. Cate is praying and calling on angels for help. Pastor switches off his car. He steps out. Pauses a bit. Alafu he walks towards Mike’s car.
Mike and Cate wako statue.
Headlights still on.
He goes to Mike’s window.
Mike rolls down the window. Cate knows it’s about to go down. But she is doing her math. Mike gyms properly. Pastor just prays.
Pastor: [To Mike] Sasa. I thought it was you. Oh, hi babe.
Mike: Buuuuudda. I'm goo… [Cate cuts in.]
Cate: Hi babe. Mike was just dropping me home. Si you kumbuka the surprise birthday for Jackie, it's not happening.
Pastor: Ala? Kwa nini?
Mike: She is not feeling…
Cate: They had a fight. Mike, be honest.
Pastor: Aaah, usione haya. Come inside.
Cate: Come. You guys can talk.
Mike anajaribu kujitoa, but Cate na Pastor insist.
Mike is wondering why is this guy so calm, but Cate knows this Pastor guy can look very calm but he can erupt at anytime.
They go inside. She has kazad her diab properly. Pastor is overly nice to Mike. Cate is sure wameshikwo.
Hajui endgame ya Pastor though.
She really shugulizes herself in the kitchen making dinner with housie. But she is eavesdropping, mostly. She brings Chai. And then she brings beef and rice. Mike nako ni ma-compliments. Talking about how Cate and Pastor have helped them this far.
Pastor asks Mike if she hit Jackie again, he swears, it has not happened since Limuru.
Kidogo Jackie calls Cate to confirm that Mike is at their place as he has said, and she confirms that he is chatting with Pastor. Jackie says that is one of the few times Mike amesema ukweli.
Cate even sambazas the phone around so Pastor and Mike can say hi.
Mike leaves to go home.
Pastor comes to Cate.
‘You guys are tight?’
Cate freezes, but keeps her cool.
‘Huh?’
‘You and Mike are tight?’
Cate: Surely, what does that mean?
‘The way he speaks of you?’
‘Aje?’
Mike: He says you have really helped him. And now he is a better man.
Cate: Si you know me I am more committed to Jackie. I just want them to have what we have. This marriage wont break nikiona.
Mike: Today in the car…
Cate amepanikiii. Si anajua amepatikana. Ka-susu kadogo.
She is inaudibly apologizing. ‘I… am so sorry babe. It is not…’
Mike: [Interrupts] If I did not know you well, I'd have assumed there was something going on between you and Mike.
HEH! Ati atia?
Pastor: Maybe we can host Jackie & Mike for dinner. We keep being there for them.
Akaenda kulala. Cate watches TV mathematicking. She is lucky she was not caught. She is not at all sorry Mike kissed her. In fact, it felt ok.
Dhafu nayo ni Kiss x Pastor divide by 2 year old, minus church, x family bodmas Jackie, Archimedes principle in laws + Plus 14% Vat.
Mike texts her that late and asks her if everything is ok.
She says it is.
He apologies.
She says don’t.
He says goodnight.
She says bye.
He says, ‘You are like my best friend!’
She sends a blush smiley.
And then she deletes all their chats.
.
Two weeks later.
Pastor comes.
He says he wants to talk about Mike and Jackie.
Cate is in constant panic whenever those names come up.
Pastor: Mike called me.
Cate: Ehe?
Pastor: He told me some things.
Cate: Gosh.
Pastor: Ni nini?
Cate: Nothing.
Pastor anamcheki huku akipima huyu msichana vizuri.
Anyway...
Pastor: I've convinced him to dedicate their marriage in 6 months. This is their year 7. Year of perfection.
Cate: Phewx… I thought he was leaving Jackie.
Pastor: He wants to do something special for Jackie. He was wondering if you can ask Jackie chini chini what she’d like.
He says it’s a big deal and surprise. They will do it at the church.
Pastor: Cate, I think you have done well. These ones will never separate again. I am so proud of you.
Cate Exhales.
Cate and Jackie meet up a couple of times. Jackie says, she feels like Mike has changed.
He is not physically abusive anymore, but emotionally he has a long way to go. She feels he is just there being mechanical.
Cate naye, ‘Wah! I thought things were getting better?’
Jackie: Also, I may have met someone. Nothing is happening, but we are friends.
Cate is confused.
She everything to herself.
Next day, Mike calls Cate. ‘Mlisikiza aje?’
Cate: Maybe take it slow. You just be there for her and try and find out from her. Spend time with her. Please.
Mike: Si we meet I show you the plans I have, and you can tell me what to do?
Cate agrees.
Her play is if this thing happens, then what she is starting to thing about Mike will disappear.
.
We ulisikia wapi?
She asks Pastor if she can meet up with Mike to go over the plans. Pastor says sawa. And then he says will pick her up after that meeting they come home together.
At the meeting, it is feelings plus emotions. Cate is explaining her side of the story that night, and Mike is being aloof. They don’t even talk about the event plans.
Mike says he is doing it because he thinks that is what Jackie wants. Cate naye aamini masikio yake.
Boychild!
She asks him, ‘How do you know what she wants? Are you living in your head?’
Mike says she is falling for this one. This one says ‘My purpose in life is not to break marriages. It is to help mend them. Besides, she has drama in her marriage too, that she needs to focus on.’
It’s a grand slam of emotions.
When it’s time to leave, Cate texts Pastor to kujia her. Pastor says something's come up, if she can get a taxi or if Mike can drop her.
Mike agrees.
They talk more. Then they get into the car to go home. But... They kiss. Easily and comfortably.
These two start having the planning meetings regularly, but all they do is katia each other, flirt and kiss.
Mike is like, ‘I really like you.’ Cate is like, ‘Don’t worry. You will stop.’ They laugh. Hawajui hapa mbele kunaenda aje.
Cate wants it to stop, but she's enjoying it.
She is very open and emotionally intimate with Mike. She is throwing small small details to Pastor who figures that’s the outcome of the meetings.
They even host Mike and Jackie a couple of times for dinner, and they also go to their place.
Mikakati zinaendelea na Jackie hajui.
Mike na kiherehere, asks Cate & Pastor if they can be their best couple at this thing. Pastor agrees, but Cate is like, wacha we will find out from Jackie somehow.
Haya, ndio hiyo sasa Eldoret Express iko hapo Morendat, Naivasha, mapenzi inaelekea Nakuru. Destination, Busia.
Sawa. So Pastor gets invited to a conference in Mombasa. 4 days. Akafunga virago, Coast Pekee.
Mike tells Cate they hang out. Cate says it has to be during the day. Mike sends her a taxi.
She finds herself in this Private Members only club and hotel. Mike has booked a day room.
They have lunch, and they're watching movies, chilling.
Shortly they are on top of each other. Sweat, tears and other bodily fluids.
It is intense.
Immediately after, Cate crushes. Completely crushes. She feels she is full of shame and some fear and disgust and wants to die.
Mike yeye ako tu. He is not bothered. And Cate is bothered because the G is not bothered.
She goes MIA for like a week, alafu she wants to talk about it. They meet but ends up the same. And then it becomes comfortably regular.
She is juiced and dined, and they are having fun.
'Cate,' she tells herself, 'this is a fling and it will end. Usiogope. Nobody is getting hurt.'
She reminds Mike constantly, and she braces herself for it. But after 4 months of playing these games, she is convinced she really likes the guy, and she is willing to risk it all.
Jackie on the other hand tells Cate she is seeing a shrink, and it looks like she's going to leave Mike. Cate naye tells Mike, not to bother with the vows thing. Thing will resolve itself.
Also. Cate. She believes she can leave Pastor for Mike. Because they are domeing properly.
It get’s so bad, she ‘goes back home, and then comes back’, goes and comes. Pastor naye anaona aibu kanisa itaanguka, so he is keeping sanity, while trying to get this thing working again.
.
One night, Jackie comes over for dinner and tells Cate and Pastor, that she is done.
She has evidence that Mike is cheating, and she has evidence it is with who. And that she is going to expose all of them.
Chick freezes.
She quickly cuts all the links with Mike, erases all communication and prepares for the worst.
Jackie keeps updating Cate on all progress.
Everything. All places the chic has been taken, all costs incurred.
All these places, Cate has been there. With Mike.
She counts her losses. She is ready to be outed, even after complaining to her parents and Pastor’s parents, their friends and their marriage enrichment groups.
Pastor has always been the bad one. It is mad chaos. She is crazy fire fighting.
She is convincing Mike to sort things with Jackie, mara he should propose, the vows thing can now work. She's also trying to gain ground with Jackie. To let everything go, and move on with her life.
But quietly, amicably. Asichome bridges.
Jackie says the exit has to be blockbuster big.
She meets up with Mike, one last time, to break it off, and to tell him all that Jackie knows everything, and they are going to be on the 9pm news. She comes dressed to hide her identity.
Mike is not seeing the seriousness of it, and just keeps drinking and drinking. Plus he just keeps telling Cate they are past games. He also tells her, that he knows Cate just came for sex.
Cate is asking, how he was caught? What does she know? We agreed WE WILL not be caught.
Mike is focused. He tells her, he still has a day room, waende wafanye mara ya mwisho, ya gwaheri ya kuonana, basi.
Cate is losing it? Mike insists. She refuses. Mike swings his hand for a slap. She ducks, and then bangs the table saying, ‘Skiza hapa Joyce.’
Joyce. JOYCE? TF???
Cate gets up to leave but Mike grabs her wrist. Mike tells her, he has photos and videos of everything they have ever done. He has everything on his phone. Yeye haogopi. He will show the world.
He is almost loud.
He chomoas the phone, anamuonesha sinema, very loud volume on.
Cate is sooo errambassed. Watu wana waangalia. She is wondering why the ground is not swallowing her.
While they argue in whispers why this guy recorder her, the bill comes, and Mike's card gets declined.
He raises hell. Shouting at the waiter. Anasema he has millions in there.
Si Cate ashamsoma, she says sawa, ‘I’ll pay. Let’s drink and then go to the room.’
She asks for more alcholol, Mike drinks. He is blubbering about how he just wants Cate. And how things can be, and that he truly loves with Cate. He even tells Cate to tell him that he loves him.
Msichana akasema.
Mike drinks so hard, that he can’t take it anymore. Cate steals his phone and hides it inside her bra. And then she pretends she is going to the bathroom, but disappears.
Her small worry is that this crazy Mike might follow her home, but she is ok with that.
What she is not ok with, is if he has back up of that premium content. Akifika home, she meets Jackie at her gate in Jamu.
She wants Pastor to go to the hotel where Mike, because he has been seen with one of the women there. She says she has the evidence. Photos. Videos. Chats!
All from Mike's laptop. Of Mike. And some 4 women.
Mike had spent more than 800K of their money, on these womens. And Jackie had receipts and statements.
By God’s grace, Cate is not among them.
Jackie: And if I didn’t know better, I would thought you were one of those women.
Jackie: Thank you for being a true friend. I'm a very good judge of people, and I am glad I got it right with you. It’s so good to have a big sister in you.
.
Mike na yeye, he still insists that nothing happened between him and those women, and that he is innocent. Mpaka wa leo.
When Cate goes through Mike’s phone… wacha tu. The things they had recorded. She dumps the phone in a restaurant toilet, and never looks back.
.
Anyway, Jackie is with now her new guy. Her best friend Cate, and Pastor are still in counselling.

He can barely walk.
When he sits down, the people around him twice their nose. Some who can find space in the packed courtroom move a bit. It still gets to them.
He is guided sit with the other on the dock.
Away from the dock, people’s faces sadly move side to side, trying to find their people.
DEAD IN KILIMANI
Episode 3 of 4 #IKnowAGuy
.
6:15pm.
Kileleshwa Nairobi.
Shiro and Jackie pull up to an apartment in Kileleshwa, Nairobi. Shiro is obviously nervous and worked up, so it is Jackie who has to speak to the watchie. He refuses to let them in.
. #DeadInKilimani
The apartment they want to go is already let and occupied. And no visitors allowed. Ama waongee na landlord, mama mwenye apartment.
Jackie says they are scared their pal may be in danger and they need to just make sure she is ok.
It is the folded 500 note that does the trick.
He tells them to park outside the compound, and then escorts them to the lift and goes upto the 6th floor. All the while Jackie is calming Shiro down.
Watchie ata hashikanishi.
Shiro knocks on the door. Light light footsteps approach the door.
Bwana every estate needs a person who is bold, tough, militant, Taliban and one who willing to do crazy things that peace loving people would have to go sijui where to be fitted with grit and toughness.

REMMY'S BRAINS.
. 1. There was a man, from Kivu, Congo. John Paul was his name. He lived a good life. To afford the godd life, he did bad things on the behest of evil greedy men who could pay for the bad things he could do. The kind of bad things that gave him, even, nightmares.
Bad things that gave even worse nightmares to people who survived his encounter.
Soon, he had a ‘Road To Damascus’ encounter. And the voice in the bright light that shone on him demanded his life. He changed his life, distributing his portable possessions as he headed East...
East out of DRC and fled. Fleeing his demons, and those of the people he did bad things too.
. 2. There was a boy from Kindu, in the greater Kivu region of DRC. Right at the border of Democratic Republic of Congo, and the United Republic of Tanzania. The son of a single mother.
