On this day 30 years ago, McDonald's served a libel writ on me as I stepped from the van of my then partner, who unbeknown to me was an undercover policeman, John Dines, who was spying on me & other campaigners in London Greenpeace #spycops #McLibel #OTD smh.com.au/lifestyle/hele…
The writ alleged McDonald's had been libelled in a leaflet produced by London Greenpeace, which was co-written by another undercover policeman, Bob Lambert. The resulting court case lasted 3 years, but at no time was the role of the #spycops revealed
After the case ended we sued the police as it had emerged the police had provided confidential information about us to McDonald's to enable them to sue us. The police apologised and paid damages, but still didn't reveal the role of #spycops in the case news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/820786…
After discovering that my former partner had been an undercover policeman, I joined with 7 other women to bring a case against the police to challenge this #InstitutionalSexism
We received an unprecedented apology from the police, but no disclosure at all
It is now 5 years since the Public Inquiry into Undercover Policing was set up, and in those 5 years the police have still not come clean about their gross & abusive interference in my life and their collusion with McDonald's, instead they demand the #spycops privacy is paramount
We now know over 1000 groups were spied on by secret political policing units in the UK, but so far the Inquiry has refused to name them. It's time the UCPI stopped prioritising police wishes over the right of the public & those spied on to know the truth theguardian.com/uk-news/ng-int…
There's more on the timeline of #spycops here. Inquiry is now due to start in Nov, but there are serious concerns about whether it will be public. So far the Inquiry has refused to agree to live streaming evidence but given COVID restrictions this is vital spycops.co.uk/timeline/

Yesterday in the Scottish Parliament I couldn't contain my anger listening to politicians endlessly repeating the lie that sex self-ID has been passed in many countries around the world with no resulting harm for women. Thread of just some recorded harms.. scottishparliament.tv/meeting/meetin…
Here's a list of 122 males convicted of sex offences, violence & murder, who 'self-identify as women'. There are many more stories like these 'that never happen' as a result of sex self-ID. More details linked from each name. Women suffer as a result. grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/this-never-h…
Here's some accounts of women in prison, forced to share space with males - including sex offenders who 'self-identify as women'. Women suffer fear, trauma, sexual assaults, violence & risk of pregnancy as a result of allowing males in female prisons kpssinfo.org/women-in-priso…
There was something very cult like about the chanting by trans activists which greeted us outside the @LabWomenDec#ExpelMe rally last night. The only chant that didn't involve repeating what the megaphone said was where they shouted "Fuck Off" in answer to Julie Bindel's name
While trans activists assert it is 'triggering' to them for women to talk about periods or our bodies, they apparently think it's fine to turn up to protest outside a women's meeting wearing a balaclava & a flashing penis & filming women while asking for our names & where we live
And while they tell us not to 'misgender' (also known as correctly sex) because it causes distress, apparently they didn't consider that it might cause distress to create the smell of smoke inside a packed meeting hall in the shadow of Grenfell Tower.
@Keir_Starmer@LGBTLabour Here is a useful guide to understanding the difference between sex & gender and how 'self identification' affects the rights of women to single sex facilities & services. Will you defend women's rights to freedom of speech about these issues?
@Keir_Starmer@LGBTLabour For those tempted to claim that the demands of trans activists are the same as the fight for gay rights, please read this article. Many of the lesbians & other women speaking up now about the problems with trans politics were on the frontline for gay rights janeclarejones.com/2018/09/09/gay…
@Keir_Starmer@LGBTLabour While claiming that introducing
self ID is just a matter of reducing bureaucracy and affects no-one except trans people, behind the scenes trans advocacy groups have sought to remove women's existing sex based rights, see examples here: womansplaceuk.org/references-to-…
Thank you to all for your messages of support. I was disappointed that a small sub group of LJN allowed themselves to be used in this way, but the architects of the bullying were some academics from @Women_Strike who despite their name seem to be focused on servicing men and
silencing women. @Women_Strike were also previously involved in harassing a woman trade unionist on her picket line for the supposed crime of attending a meeting about women's rights. womansplaceuk.org/footage-of-pic…
@Women_Strike also platformed Ada Cable, despite knowing he called for gender critical feminists to be physically assaulted in the wake of Maria MacLachlan being assaulted by trans activists at Speaker's Corner. He spoke at their meeting on 'bread, roses and hormones for all' !
