In 2018, @SpeakerPelosi applauded Dr. Ford for her bravery. In 2020, she said she didn’t want a lecture from a reporter who asked her why she refused to call for an investigation into Tara Reade’s allegations against Joe Biden.

In 2018, @SenFeinstein played a key role in the accusation against Kavanaugh. In 2020, she criticized Tara Reade for not coming forward sooner.

In 2018, @SenWarren said that when a woman comes forward “she has a right to be listened to, and there needs to be a full investigation." In 2020 she called Biden’s denial credible and defended her endorsement of him.

In 2018, @KamalaHarris said she believed Dr. Ford. In 2020, she said that “women must be able to speak without fear of retaliation.” Yet she has never addressed the harassment her supporters, the Khive, have levied at Tara Reade.

In 2018, @SenGillibrand criticized Republicans for their “disappointing” response to the sexual-assault allegations against Kavanaugh. In 2020, she said she didn’t see a contradiction between how Democrats handled Reade's allegations & how they handle Ford’s.

In 2018, @BetoORourke praised Christine Blasey Ford and called for Kavanaugh to step down. In 2020, he endorsed Biden. He has never mentioned Tara Reade.

In 2019, @JulianCastro called for Kavanaugh’s impeachment. He also criticized @billmaher’s defense of Biden’s inappropriate touching. In 2020, he has never mentioned Tara Reade.

Privately, some Democrats are lamenting the standard they set in 2018. A Democratic strategist who requested anonymity said, “It looks terrible for [Biden] & the party. You can't say you believe women & then take it back because it doesn't apply to you."
