St John of God Sec School, Awka is girls school. I was asked to teach Literature in English, a whole Sociology graduate. Sebi it's NYSC. Mo ya gba kamu.
My lecture days were Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Wednesdays and Thursdays were my other PPAs and CDS. I also taught in the Prisons as Government, Commerce and Literature tutor.
For the CDS, I usually rotate my station from ABS FM to Unizik FM and then to Blaize FM and NTA for weekly broadcast. Other days are for NYSC office duties where I assist the Public Relations unit with administrative and field duties.
I was billed to join NAPTIP CDS based on my course of study, Sociology but because it was publicity CDS through OBS that facilitated my posting to Awka the same way PDP supported Obaseki, it was due time to give back by being one of them
When it was election time into the Publicity CDS for batch B, I was asked to contest for the post of General Secretary but I declined on the account that I wouldn't have much say since it wasn't my batch.
Ladi emerged President and I supported him whole heartedly. The earned me the HODship of ABS FM unit. I led the NYSC show called CORPERS Rendezvous. A kind of razzmatazz programme.
The majority of the members of the publicity CDS were in the station because it was the most active and effective of all. What worked? Leadership.
On the final week of Ladi as the President, an election was conducted to determine his successor. I was not even aware of any potential election and as a result, I went late to the CDS because I had an emergency broadcast.
They had to wait for me to arrive before conducting the election. As soon as I approached the scene, I was already hearing WELCOME OUR NEW PRESIDENT. Without sweat or vote, I emerged the President of NYSC publicity CDS.
I gave a powerful speech of commitment and dedication to the course of NYSC and openness to my colleagues for the success of my regime. It was in my first day at work that I appointed HODS for all radio and TV stations.
Membership of the CDS increased as members of other CDS groups jettisoned theirs and joined mine. One of such was Anuoluwapo Moses who was formerly in the Music CDS. It became a good time to build others with broadcast and journalism ethics.
My administration raised money from donations and dues from members and we didn't spend any of such money on any frivolities. Members volunteered to help with other areas that might consume our expenses. My executives were ever willing.
Some of the few guys that worked with me were Promise Etim, Westo, Igiebo Magdalene and the likes. These were wonderful people to have in your team and be guaranteed of success anytime, anyday.
My activities in the prison school earned me the position of prison school Principal fondly called prisonpality. Through this, many corps members were brought on board to freely teach inmates at their leisure in subjects they are versed in. This gave me a huge success.
NYSC also gave me the opportunity to register voters and conduct elections in Agbudu village of Orumba South LGA and Awka Awka South respectively. A lot happened during the elections.
Let's do this next week.

The same Bayo Ariyibi that welcomed me into OBS already lured me into publicity CDS. This happened because I love Bayo's person. Simple, hardworking and a teacher of men.

Completing the service year and getting back home wasn't so easy. I came from a home where neighbours are SEE FINISH. So it wasn't a matter of negotiation for me to know that I wasn't returning home to my parents after Ajuwaya
Not like I didn't try to. I did but got my fingers burnt. Young chaps in the streets were often referred to see me for their difficult home works. One young girl nearly rubbished my degree when she brought WORD PROBLEM mathematics assignment. It was really a problem.

It was my batch of NYSC that was deployed to conduct voter's registration and the eventual elections of 2011. It didn't come so easily.
We were asked to converge at the Awka South local government office in Amawbia for briefing. I was to arrive earlier than others to set the public address system as soon as I got to the venue and was alighting from the motorcycle, my NYSC trouser tore disgracefully.

Staying in the NCCF family house was a product of garnished programmes and varieties as well as the interdenominational acceptance of Christians across the country.
Sebi you remembered that I said cooking almost landed me in trouble in the previous episode, it wasn't funny at all.

Despite having some issues with my documentation at the NYSC office which would mean that I wouldn't get my 9,775 for two months, I still felt like leaving the NCCF state house because of strict rules or else...
Won ti keran mero (they have parked incompartible entities together). I set out to look for an apartment because I had about 20k in my account plus my first allawee, transport and bicycle allowances given on camp. I was good to go.

I was posted to Awka south, the capital of Anambra state. The mood before dismantling OBS gadgets after the parade at the camp was very emotional. Several bonds were broken with hugs and kisses.
People were posted to pitiable places like Ayamelum, Awka North, Njikoka, Orumba North and South, and a few other places. Tears were rolling like water from fish pond.
